Jango the Spanish Water Dog at Warwick

The day after Jango's appearance at the Crufts, we went to Warwick to take some more candid shots for Jango's Facebook page and promotional material. It was a lovely warm spring day, Warwick provided some beautiful backdrops for our photo session, and Jango enjoyed having his photo taken and being admired by passers-by. I thoroughly enojoyed this photo shoot and I wish Jango every success in his future show career! For more images from the day, please click on the link below. 

Crufts 2016, NEC, Birmingham

I was recently commissioned to photograph Jango the Spanish Water Dog at the Crufts dog show in Birmingham. I used to go to dog shows when I was a little girl, but I have never been to the Crufts and was so excited to go! Jango came all the way from America, after recently winning best in breed at the prestigious Westminster Dog Show in New York, and was making his first appearance in the UK. Unfortunately, he didn't take the same title this time, but he clearly enjoyed being shown and all the attention he received from his new fans. Here is a selection of images from the day. Newborn photoshoot, Ruislip, Greater London_Baby photographer London and Surrey

I was asked to photograph baby Jasmine when she was around a month old. It was such a pleasure to finally meet this bundle of cuteness after photographing her expectant mum and dad last summer in Richmond park. She was the most active newborn baby I've met so far, and was constantly kicking, arm waving and wiggling. She stayed awake during multiple outfit and background changes, individual and group shots, tireless and ready for action - a real pro! Her Wonder Woman onesie was definitely the right choice of outfit! She eventually dosed off in her parents' arms just long enough for me to get a few sleeping frames. Maternity Photoshoot / Surrey Maternity Photographer

I was really keen to capture a few silhouettes and partial silhouettes of Sheena's baby bump. My lighting system was misbehaving on the day, and after failing to fix a problem with my wireless transmitter I was ready to throw in the towel and admit defeat. The last resort was to try and use studio lights without the flash function, which actually worked really well and enabled me to capture a few timeless images of Sheena's third trimester baby bump which I am really proud of. We also did a short outdoors session in between the rain with now proud dad Rajiv. Thank you guys for a challenging yet fun afternoon, and looking forward to meeting the new member of Patel family!

Meet Gordon. He is a staffie who was found abandoned and scared on the streets of London. After nobody came in to reclaim him from a council pound, he was taken in by the Mayhew Animal Home. The staff at the centre noticed that he didn't hear them entering his kennel in the morning and after a series of test it was determined that Gordon is completely deaf. Staffies struggle to find a home even if perfectly healthy so Gordon's deafness was another setback in the adoption process. However, the staff at the Mayhew were determined to give him a second chance and they started teaching him sign language, and urging him to use other senses to compensate for his lack of hearing, giving him new tools to communicate with people. He responded really well to training, and soon learned a few commands like sit, stand and stay, and started bonding more easily with people. After 9 months, the wait was finally over - a couple came in to see Gordon and they instantly fell in love with him! Gordon now lives with Josanne and Richard (and a rabbit called Munch), who continue to teach him sign language and train him at Rachel Worley's Reality dog training classes. I photographed Gordon just before New Year, after he won the first prize for best trick at Rachel's Christmas class (he barks when he sees an appropriate sign). It was the first time I ever encountered a deaf dog and I was touched by the special bond Gordon and his owners share. I was also amazed by how many different commands he knew, and how in tune he was with Josanna and Richard. Our photoshoot included a session at home to capture some cozy home moments, and a session outdoors where Gordon enjoyed running around and showcasing his many tricks. This is such a heart warming story, which I hope inspires others to follow Josanne and Richard's steps in adopting a needier dog. Family photo session in Camberwell, London / Family photographer London and Surrey

I am delighted to share these photos of Ellie and her family, which I took a week or so before her 1st birthday. I photographed Ellie when she was only three months old and it was so nice to see the transformation from a tiny baby to an (almost) walking toddler.

We started our photo session in a local park where Ellie enjoyed walking through dry leaves and going on the swings. Back at home, I was able to capture a bit more walking practice, playtime with mum and dad and a few cozy family moments.

I really enjoyed this photo session and selecting a few photos to share wasn't easy. Here is a selection of several of my favourites.

Destination Wedding Photographer in Oaxaca, Mexico

I am so happy to share these photos of my dear friends' wedding in lovely Mexico! It was an amazing wedding and I am so thrilled to have been a part of it, and to have photographed it as an Oaxaca destination photographer!

Surrey Wedding Photographer in Mexico

Diana and Phil are based in London but chose to get married in Mexico because Diana’s family lives there. They chose wonderful Oaxaca for their stylish and tradition-filled destination wedding. Oaxaca is a great little city, filled with history, art and tasty gormet food. As part of the wedding celebration, we travelled to Monte Alban ruins and visited many villages rich in indigenous people, cultures and crafts.

The bride and groom got ready at the Casa Oaxaca Boutique Hotel, a gorgeous colonial style hotel in downtown Oaxaca. I photographed Diana have her hair and makeup done, and put on her wedding dress. From there we walked the short walk through town to the ceremony venue, which was a beautiful gallery on Calle Macedonio Alcalá. There were some interesting ceremonial traditions like putting a wedding lasso around the bride and groom which symbolises lifetime unity of the newlyweds. After the ceremony, it was party time! The guests were treated to a traditional Oaxacan calenda which is a type of street procession with giant puppets and brass music! It was truly a unique destination wedding, and I can’t thank the bride and groom enough for organising everything, and making it as unforgettable day for me as I am sure it was for you. :-)

York House Wedding / London Wedding Potographer

I was so pleased when Vickie and Paul asked me to photograph their intimate wedding at York House, Twickenham. I got to know Vickie quite well over the course of our Bump to Baby pregnancy photo sessions (see post from Nov 16) that it felt really special to be a part of their wedding. York House is a stunning venue where I photographed before on a few occasions, but to photograph a wedding there on one of the most beautiful days of the year was a real treat!
