York House Wedding Photographer
Twickenham and Richmond-upon-thames
“Mina did a fantastic job photographing our wedding! We are really happy with our pictures, and Mina has captured some lovely moments that we would never have seen otherwise. She was great at taking pictures of our guests without being obtrusive at all (I don’t think most people even noticed they were having their picture taken!), so the photos are really natural. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. ”
“We were so happy to work with Mina for our wedding! We couldn’t be happier with her photos, and just as importantly, she was such a joy to work with. Her guidance resulted in some amazing shots and helped us have a truly special wedding. We are full of smiles thanks to Mina’s incredible work, and are truly grateful for her warmth and energy throughout the day.”
York House Wedding Venue
Nestled by the River Thames just outside the centre of Twickenham, York House serves at the Town Hall of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, and is a licensed wedding venue. There are several elegant rooms available for wedding ceremonies in this beautiful Grade II listed building, like the Loggia room or the Salon. Other rooms can be hired for wedding receptions, and the stunning gardens are the perfect backdrop for wedding photography. The gardens lead down to the River Thames, and provide so many gorgeous spaces for wedding portraits. Some of my personal favouites include the Japanese gardens, the beautiful stone bridge crossing into the rose gardens, the “Naked ladies” fountain and my absolute favourite - the view over the River Thames. I have been a wedding photographer for more than 10 years, and have photographed many weddings and other events at this venue. I can truly say that this is one of my favourite London wedding venues, and for so many reasons. The staff working there so professional, curtious and kind. The light and the colour scheme of rooms are warm and elegant. Finally, the gardens are stunning and provide so many options for photography. You can find more information on York House and the Gardens, together with the information on how to book a wedding ceremony, on the Richmond Council website.

Many congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding! Saying ‘yes’ to the person you want to spend the rest of your life with is such an exciting time in you and your partner’s life.
As York House wedding photographer, I strive to capture the emotion and unique personalities of my clients, set in this beautiful venue on banks of the River Thames. I use documentary style photography to portray the day unfolding, working with natural light to create relaxed, candid shots of you and your family and friends having a good time. My photography style is rooted in storytelling. I work unobtrusively to create images which evoke emotion, a sense of connection, intimacy and fun. I will give direction for big group shots and intimate couple portraits, but otherwise I work quietly and discreetly to capture real moments unfold, visually narrating one of the most spacial days of your lives. Having worked at York House on many occasions, and know the venue and the surrounding area intimately. This helps create relaxed, genuine photos you and your family will treasure.
“Amazing photos! Mina was able to capture some of the best moments of the day. The photos were so natural and authentic, we had to frame them right away, it’s the best way to remember our day. Thank you so much Mina!”

There is no bad time for bookingme in as your wedding photographer. Advance bookings are recommended, but even if you are looking for a last-minute wedding photographer, please get in touch, I may have some availability.

Generally speaking, the best time of day for any photography, especially in spring and summer months is early in the morning and late in the evening, when the sun is low and the light warm. However, this may not be realistic when planning a wedding. York House gardens are big and there are so many nooks and crannies that good light can be found during most of the day.
-
Some of my favourite photography spots at York House are the section overlooking the river, the beautiful bridge, the “Naked ladies” fountain and the Japanese gardens.
-
Yes, York Housse gardens are open to general public so you can take photos there even if you are just walking by the river and happen to get there
-
I am not comfortable in front of the camera, so I know exactly where you are coming from. Please dont worry, I will do my best to put you at ease. You are not expected to be a model, I can help you as much or as little as you want by giving you gentle direction and instructing where to look, where to place your hands and which way to turn. This usually works well to take your mind off thinking you are nervous, and lets you focus at a task at hand.
-
No, you don’t need a permit if you are intending to use the photos for personal use.
-
Oh! The Great British weather. Always keeping us on our toes, even in the hight of summer!
Unfortunately, there is no moving your wedding date so do try and have a rain-friendly option for your wedding reception. We will work with what we have on the day and be inventive with backgrounds. Things like umbrellas and colourful wellies can work really well for couple portraits for rainy days.
-
Two to four weeks after your wedding (depending on how busy my season is), I will send you a link to a private, password-protected gallery where you will be able to view your photographs, and share them with your family and friends.

My photography style is rooted in documentary-style photography, enabling me to tell the story of your day as it unfolds. I create layered images, combining portraiture and genuine moments interspearsed with emotion, human connection adn artistry to create images you will treasure in years to come.
I like to do most work in camera, and keep editing to a minimum. I do exposure, tone and colour correction, some photoshopping but try to keep it at a minimum.
-
I photograph in colour only. When I edit the photographs, I convert a small selection of photos from your photoshoot into black & white. Therefore, the final collection of images will contain most photographs in colour, with the selected few in black & white.
-
Depending whether you opt in or out! Before you book me in as your wedding photographer, I will send you my standard Terms & Conditions, which contains some information on Copywrite and permission. You can then decide whether you feel comfortable for your photographs to be used or not. As a general rule, I keep my clients names anonymous, and only use general terms for naming photographs and writing blog posts.
-
Yes! I offer the minimum of 2h wedding photography coverage, ideal for couples planning a small wedding.
-
There are so many beautiful sports around York House. The river Thames provides a stunning back drop, a bit further along there is Eel Pie Island, Orleans House gardens, or the vibrant Church street.
-
There is no one rule fits all when it comes to photography tips at York House. Depending on your circumstance, you may wish to come to the venue together, have the couple shots done first, then get to business. Classically, the order of photography is as follows: guests arriving, the wedding ceremony, group shots, couple portraits, reception drinks, reception dinner then party.
