Maternity Photoshoot with Puppy in Surrey Hills
Dogs are such a big part of family life; we share our experiences with them including big family milestones. That is why this couple decided to mark the arrival of their baby with a puppy and maternity photo session in the Surrey Hills. They wanted to have family portraits for their home, but also photographs which they can send out as cards to family and friends for Christmas.
Working with dogs is great fun! They are all individuals and their character comes through early on in the pet photoshoot. I love working with dogs because there is an element of unpredictability and freedom. I need to adjust my working style quickly to suit a particular dog. If it is an energetic dog, I would choose to take action shots first, then focus on portraits later. If it is an old dog, then the pace needs to be slower and the focus different. Puppies require special consideration, as they behave differently at different ages and have different energy levels. This particular puppy was few months old. He wasn’t particularly energetic but he was sweet and full of character. There was a comedic quality about him, which I wanted to capture.
In addition to puppy portraits, I wanted to capture the puppy and my clients together, for their family portraits. This is something I am putting a lot more focus on these days, even if it is a dog or puppy photoshoot. I am interested in recording the connection between people and their pets, capturing special moments for them which they can cherish as their family grows. Since this was a combined puppy and maternity photo shoot, it was even more important for me to capture everyone together. I wanted my clients not only to have the memories of the changing times in their lives but also the special bond they had with their new puppy, just as their lives were about to change, yet again.

Maternity photoshoot, Richmond-upon-Thames
One of the great things about my job is being able to capture special moments in people's lives. This lovely lady was just over 30 weeks pregnant and wanted some photos of her baby bump as a memory, which was a great pleasure and privilage to document.
My maternity photoshoots are tailored to fullful the needs of my clients - they can be organised outside in your favourite park, in the comfort of your home or both. This photo session was done at home which made it extra cosy and relaxing.
I thoroughly enjoyed this session and I am very much looking forward to meeting the new arrival!
Maternity Photoshoot / Surrey Maternity Photographer
I was really keen to capture a few silhouettes and partial silhouettes of Sheena's baby bump. My lighting system was misbehaving on the day, and after failing to fix a problem with my wireless transmitter I was ready to throw in the towel and admit defeat. The last resort was to try and use studio lights without the flash function, which actually worked really well and enabled me to capture a few timeless images of Sheena's third trimester baby bump which I am really proud of. We also did a short outdoors session in between the rain with now proud dad Rajiv. Thank you guys for a challenging yet fun afternoon, and looking forward to meeting the new member of Patel family!
Bump to Baby Pregnancy Progression, Twickenham, Greater London
I am really excited to share these images! Vickie contacted me with an idea of doing weekly pregnancy progression photos to capture this special time in her life and changes her body would go through. We started when she was 16 weeks pregnant, and our last photoshoot was only a few days before her beautiful baby boy was born. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and was so excited to finally meet Harrison!
Dog photoshoot, Terrace Gardens, London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Greater London
Acer, a lovely grey whippet won overall Best in Show at the St John's Church Fete dog show in Isleworth earlier this summer. I spent the morning with him and his owner Alice enjoying the beautiful Terrace Gardens and the adjecent Terrace Field overlooking the River Thames in Richmond. Alice, who is due in a few weeks time, also wanted a few photos of her baby bump as a memory of this special time. Here are a few photos from the session.
