Senior Dog Photographer London & Surrey | Mina Milanovic Photography
“If I could give 6 stars I would- working with Mina, and the photos, was exactly what I wanted.
Mina was amazing during our photoshoot and with all the follow up. Our dog doesn’t take direction well (he’s old and headstrong) but Mina was able to work around his attitude and took the most beautiful photos of our family. I had no idea what I was doing and Mina made me feel relaxed and made the whole experience really easy and fun!
Pricing and next steps were clear, easy and fair, and Mina is super fast to respond to any questions. I can’t wait to show everyone our pictures!”
Celebrating Your Dog's Golden Years
Senior Dog Photography That Captures Real Connections
Why Senior Dog Photography Matters
Many people invest in professional photographs when their dog is a puppy, but often forget to document the years that follow.
Yet the senior years are often when our relationship with our dogs becomes deepest. Senior dog photography is not just about capturing a pet portrait or a fun action shot (even though that is certainly a part of the session), it is also about storytelling. A photograph can evoke a great story about your pet - their favourite play, the way they snuggle up next you, how they lick your ear or walk on the beach with you.
I want to capture those happy memories for you and your family so you can relive cherished moments with passing years.
Senior dog photography is a great way of capturing:
The unique personality of your dog
The connection you and your family share with your dog
Everyday routines and favourite places
Beautiful portraits that celebrate your dog's character
Precious memories to look back on for years to come
These sessions aren't about perfection. They're about preserving the moments, expressions and relationships that matter most.
Hello and thank you for visiting my Senior Dog Photography page! I am Mina, a senior dog photographer, specialising in natural, relaxed senior dog photography in London and Surrey. I create gentle photography sessions for older dogs and their families, capturing their personality, the bond you share and the everyday moments that make your relationship special.
Our dogs are never with us for long enough. As they grow older, the little things that once felt ordinary often become the memories we treasure most: the familiar grey muzzle, the slower walks, the gentle way they rest beside us, and the quiet companionship that has become part of everyday life.
Senior dog photography is about celebrating this special stage of your dog's life and preserving beautiful memories before time moves on. These sessions are relaxed, gentle and completely tailored to your dog's comfort, mobility and personality.
Whether your dog still enjoys long countryside walks or prefers snoozing on the sofa at home, the goal is to create meaningful photographs that reflect the bond you share.

When Is the Best Time to Book a Senior Dog Photography Session?
Any time is a good time, really. Sometimes, wishing to celebrate your relationship and the fact your dog has been by your side for so many years is reason enough.
While senior dogs often remain happy and active for many years, mobility and health can change unexpectedly. Booking a photography session while your dog is still comfortable and able to enjoy the experience helps create a wider variety of images and allows everyone to relax and enjoy the moment.
Some people contact me when they start noticing changes in their dog, like more sleep, reluctance to go up and down the stairs, or after a particular health scare. Others, on the other hand simply want to document this stage of their life.
If your dog is elderly, unwell or approaching the end of their life, I would generally recommend getting in touch sooner rather than later. The session can always be adapted to your dog's needs. We can take things slowly, include plenty of breaks and choose a location where your dog feels comfortable. For some dogs that might be their favourite park; for others, a garden or their own home may be a better choice. The most important thing is that your dog is comfortable and that the location feels like them.
Senior Dog Photography Sessions Across London & Surrey
I photograph senior dogs across South and West London, including Clapham, Richmond, Wimbledon, Dulwich, Peckham and Kingston. Sessions can take place in your home, a favourite local park or somewhere that has special meaning to you and your dog. I also photograph senior dogs throughout Surrey, including Guildford, Dorking, Reigate, Epsom, Woking and Cobham, as well as throughout Sussex like Brighton & Hove. Sessions can take place in locations that are meaningful to you, your dog and your family, including your favourite park, beach, woodland walk, your garden and the comfort of your own home. I frequently cover areas mentioned above, but I have also work outside of these areas, so please get in touch if where you live is not listed below.

Senior Dog Photography and End-of-Life Photography
Some senior dogs are simply enjoying the slower pace of life with their families. Others may be living with age-related health conditions or have received a terminal diagnosis. For families navigating a terminal diagnosis, I also offer dedicated end-of-life pet photography sessions.
These sessions are approached with additional flexibility and urgency when needed, while maintaining the same calm, compassionate and dog-led approach. These sessions can be extended if needed, to take into account extra time needed for a break, a walk to your favourite place or simply some additional cuddles.
If you are finding it hard coming to terms with your dog’s diagnosis, The Tilly Project contains some useful resources around grief and pet bereavement.

Yes, we can have your senior dog photography session outdoors!
This could be in your dog’s home back garden or on location.
I photograph outdoors in all weather (except heavy rain and storms) and at different times of year. Don’t be afraid of a winter photo shoot or a light rain. The light is softer which means less squinting :)

You are welcome to include your family and any pets that you have! Family photo sessions typically include parents with their children, pets and occasionally grandparents. You are welcome to invite your extended family, but please get in touch to discuss the group size.
-
Oh! The Great British weather. Always keeping us on our toes, even in the hight of summer!
I try to stick to the date of our agreed photo session, even if the weather is bad. I may offer a different time slot, or an option to move the photoshoot indoors. If these options are not avaialble, then I will suggest we rearrange for a different day.
-
Yes of course, I will try to accomodate you and reschedule for the soonest available date.
Similarly, if I am ill I will get in touch to re-arrange our session.
-
Before our photoshoot, we will discuss possible locations and agree when and where to meet.
I recommend arranging to meet in the morning, parks & public spaces queiter, and roads emptier than later in the day.
-
My senior dog photo sessions are roughly 2h long. I sometimes finish slightly earlier if I feel like we covered a lot, but sometimes it may take a little longer than 2h. If your dog has mobility issues or is approaching end-od-life, I am more than happy to extend the session or create a tailored package which will suit you and your pet.
-
The most important thing is to feel comfortable, and to feel like yourself. The choice of your outfit will differ, depending what we do on the day of the photoshoot. For example, you may choose a casual outfit if we are meeting in one of London’s parks, but decide to wear activewear if we arrange to meet on a walk in Surrey. I would recommend that you think about colours, and that you complement each other rather than wear contrasting colours. If you would like to wear something colourful, think about how you can introduce that colour(s) into the whole family so you look consistent. I will send you a Photography Guide before our session which will have more information about what to wear, and a Pinterest mood board with some examples.
-
Two weeks after your photo session, I will send you a link to a private, password-protected gallery where you will be able to view your photographs, and make your selection.
-
Once the final invoice has been paid, your digital files will be sent within 24h, unless I am unavailable which I will let you know in advance by email.
-
My photography style is a mixture of documentary-style photography, portrait photography and action photography, all combined to create natural looking images which tell the story of your family.
I like to do most work in camera, and keep editing to a minimum. I do exposure, tone and colour correction, some photoshopping but try to keep it at a minimum.
-
I photograph in colour only. When I edit the photographs, I convert a small selection of photos from your photoshoot into black & white. Therefore, the final collection of images will contain most photographs in colour, with the selected few in black & white.
-
Depending whether you opt in or out! Before our photo session, I will send you my standard Terms & Conditions, which contains some information on Copywrite and permission. You can then decide whether you feel comfortable for your photographs to be used or not. As a general rule, I keep my clients names anonymous, and only use general terms for naming photographs and writing blog posts.
-
Yes. I offer dedicated end-of-life photography sessions for families whose pets have received a terminal diagnosis.
