here is no single perfect age for a puppy photoshoot.

Every stage of puppyhood is different, and photographs taken at different ages will tell a different part of your puppy's story.

If you particularly want to capture those tiny paws, puppy fluff and baby-like expressions, it is worth getting in touch soon after bringing your puppy home so that we can find a suitable date.

Puppyhood goes by incredibly quickly, and there is no need to wait until your puppy is fully trained before having photographs taken.

The first step is to inquire about a dog photography session (either at-home or on-location). I will get back to you within 24h, and depending on your needs either reply with an email or arrange a phone call, to answer all your questions and help you prepare.

Step 1: Booking the Session. Following our initial correspondence, I will send you my Ts&Cs and an invoice to pay the deposit, which secures my time for the day. I will also send some more information about the photoshoot, and offer advice on what to wear, what to bring, where to meet etc.

Step 2: Photo Shoot day. This is when the magic happens! We will spend a couple of hours in nature, enjoying a nice walk, chatting and playing games with your pets (and children if they are joining us).

Step 3: Image editing and selection. After your photoshoot, I will edit a selection of images, and upload them onto a private, password-protected gallery. You will receive a link to your digital gallery of 50+ edited images for your selection

Step 4: Final image delivery - digital and/or print. After you have selected your favourite photographs, you will be sent an invoice for the digital collections / prints / framed prints, your high resolution files ready to download and your other printed products by post.

My pet photo sessions can either be:

1. On-Location Pet Photography Sessions. These sessions can take place at any location that you choose. Popular options are nature reserves, local parks, gardens, nearby beaches, local walks, or any other spot that holds a special place in your heart.

2. The At-Home Pet Photography Sessions. Sometimes, it is just easier and cozier to stay home and enjoy play & cuddles in the comfort of your own home, or the great British weather makes it really hard to do a session outside. We can make use of both indoor and outdoor spaces.

I am based in the beautiful Surrey Hills AONB but offer family photography sessions across Surrey, London and the South East.

I cover West and South West London including the following areas: Richmond-upon-Thames, Twickenham, St Margaret’s, Kew, Teddington, Hampstead, Kingston-upon-Thames, Barnes, Wimbledon, Fulham, Kensington, Chelsea, Paddington, Earl’s Court.

I also cover South London locations such as Dulwich, Peckham, Wandsworth, Balham, Battersea, Putney, Tooting and Greenwich.

I offer family photography in Central London, and have photographed families in some of London’s iconic sites like the Southbank, St James’ Park, Hyde Park, St Paul’s Catherdral.

I also cover most of Surrey including Guildford, Godalming, Dorking, Reigate, Cobham, Esher, Byfleet, Virginia Water, Horsham.

In addition, I cover West Sussex, East Sussex, Kent other parts of the South East.

I am available for hire to locations outside of the areas listed above, subject to schedule availability and additional travel fees.

Yes, we can have your family photography session outdoors!

This could be in your family’s home back garden or on location.

I photograph outdoors in all weather (except heavy rain and storms) and at different times of year. Don’t be afraid of a winter photo shoot or a light rain. The light is softer which means less squinting :)

Absolutely! We will discuss your dog’s requirements and arrange a session based on your dog’s needs. We may do the session at home, in a quiet place or at a quiet time when parks are emptier and less stressful for an anxious dog.

You are welcome to include your family and any pets that you have! Dog photo sessions typically include a couple or a family with their children. You are welcome to invite your extended family, but please get in touch to discuss the group size.

I am not comfortable in front of the camera, so I know exactly where you are coming from. Please dont worry, I will do my best to put you at ease. You are not expected to be a model, I can help you as much or as little as you want by giving you gentle direction and instructing where to look, where to place your hands and which way to turn.

Oh! The Great British weather. Always keeping us on our toes, even in the hight of summer!

I try to stick to the date of our agreed photo session, even if the weather is bad. I may offer a different time slot, or an option to move the photoshoot indoors. If these options are not avaialble, then I will suggest we rearrange for a different day.

Yes of course, I will try to accomodate you and reschedule for the soonest available date.

Similarly, if I am ill I will get in touch to re-arrange our session.

Before our photoshoot, we will discuss possible locations and agree when and where to meet.

I recommend arranging to meet in the morning, when the kids are fresh (if they are joining us for the session), parks & public spaces quieter, and roads emptier than later in the day.

My dog photo sessions are roughly 2h long. I sometimes finish slightly earlier if I feel like we covered a lot, but sometimes it may take a little longer than 2h. Puppy photo sessions are slightly shorter, and take roughly 1h. Puppies don’t have as much stamina and tend to tire after about an hour.

The most important thing is to feel comfortable, and to feel like yourself. The choice of your outfit will differ, depending what we do on the day of the photoshoot. For example, you may choose a casual outfit if we are meeting in one of London’s parks, but decide to wear activewear if we arrange to meet on a walk in Surrey. I would recommend that you think about colours, and that you complement each other rather than wear contrasting colours. If you would like to wear something colourful, think about how you can introduce that colour(s) into the whole family so you look consistent. I will send you a Photography Guide before our session which will have more information about what to wear, and a Pinterest mood board with some examples.

Two weeks after your photo session, I will send you a link to a private, password-protected gallery where you will be able to view your photographs, and make your selection. In busy periods, this can take a little longer but should not take longer than 30 days.

Once the final invoice has been paid, your digital files will be sent within 24h, unless I am unavailable which I will let you know in advance by email.

My photography style is a mixture of documentary-style photography, portrait photography and action photography, all combined to create natural looking images which tell the story of your pet and your family.

I like to do most work in camera, and keep editing to a minimum. I do exposure, tone and colour correction, some photoshopping but try to keep it at a minimum.

I photograph in colour only. When I edit the photographs, I convert a small selection of photos from your photoshoot into black & white. Therefore, the final collection of images will contain most photographs in colour, with the selected few in black & white.

Depending whether you opt in or out! Before our photo session, I will send you my standard Terms & Conditions, which contains some information on Copywrite and permission. You can then decide whether you feel comfortable for your photographs to be used or not. As a general rule, I keep my clients names anonymous, and only use general terms for naming photographs and writing blog posts.
