Christmas Photography Gift Vouchers | A Meaningful Gift for Families, Newborns & Pets

Meaningful Christmas Gifts This Holiday Season

Every year, as Christmas approaches, we start the familiar search for gifts that feel personal. Something thoughtful, something meaningful… something that won’t end up forgotten at the back of a cupboard by February. It is not always easy. So many gifts bring joy in the moment, but only a few continue giving long after the decorations are packed away.

A photography gift voucher is one of those rare presents that grows more precious with time. It is not just something to open on Christmas morning, it an experience to look forward to, a moment to pause together and celebrate the people (and pets!) who matter most. And the photographs that come from that experience? They turn into family treasures, passed from one generation to the next.

Whether it’s a newborn photography gift voucher, a family photography gift voucher, a puppy or dog photography gift voucher, or a quiet afternoon capturing a couple in love, a gift of photography is really a gift of memories and memories are the one thing that never go out of style.

Why Photography Gift Vouchers Make Meaningful Christmas Presents

Most of us rarely book a photography session for ourselves. It is one of those things we tell ourselves we can do later, when things are calmer, when the kids are older, when the puppy stops chewing everything, when life feels a little more organised. But life has a funny habit of moving on while we’re waiting for the perfect moment. And as Tom Stoppard contemplates in his play The Coast of Utopia, that idea of the perfect place, or the perfect moment, doesn’t really exist. Life’s richness is in its flow, in everyday moments, and these are the moments I love to capture for my clients - slightly chaotic outings with the kids, muddy happy dogs, families having fun together.

A photography gift certificate gives someone the chance to press pause. And months later, when they’re holding their photographs in their hands, they realise how priceless those captured moments really are.

What You Can Gift This Christmas

I offer photography gift vouchers for:

  • Family sessions

  • Newborn photography

  • Puppy and dog photography

  • Couple photography

  • And photography credit vouchers, if you’d like to contribute toward digital files, prints or albums

Each voucher is beautifully wrapped and valid for one year from the date of purchase, so the person receiving it can book their session whenever the good time is for them.

If you’d like to find out more about my family & pet photo sessions, please visit my family photography page and my dog photography page.

What do expect from a photo session

My photo sessions are easy going and fun, designed for you to enjoy the experience. My aim is to provide a space where everyone can be themselves, connect with one another and enjoy a couple of hours in each others company. We choose a location that feels right for your family: your home, your favourite park, a stretch of woodland you love walking through, or anywhere you feel comfortable simply being yourselves.

A puppy session or a single-owner-and-dog session usually takes around an hour. Family photography tends to be closer to two. Newborn sessions take their own shape, anywhere between two and four hours depending on the needs of your baby on the day of the session.

There’s no rush, no pressure. Babies need breaks; dogs get distracted; families fall into their natural rhythm. I work around all of it. The more relaxed everyone feels, the more natural and heartfelt the photographs will be.

After the session, you will receive a private gallery with a curated selection of images from which you can choose your favourite images to be printed, displayed in an album or ordered as digital collections.

Each gift voucher includes the session time, the option to shoot in one or two locations, a complimentary 9x6” print and access to your viewing gallery. Additional photography products such as digital collections, prints, framed prints and albums can be purchased separately.

The Value of gifting a photography gift voucher

One of my favourite parts of photography is imagining where these images will be years from now.
A newborn, now grown, showing their tiny baby photo to a partner. A child, once all curls and muddy wellies, now a teenager rolling their eyes fondly at the memory. A beloved dog, long after their paws have stopped padding across the kitchen floor, remembered just as they were in that moment — joyful, curious, loved. A couple looking back at the place where their journey began.

When you give someone a photography gift voucher, you are giving them tiny pieces of their future, moments that will one day be looked back on with warmth and tenderness.

How to Purchase a Photography Gift Voucher

If you’d like to gift someone the experience of beautiful, natural photographs, I’d be delighted to help. Gift vouchers can be posted, hand-delivered if you live nearby, or sent digitally if you need something quickly.

To enquire about purchasing a gift voucher, please fill out a contact form on my website. Feel free to ask about adding product credit, session recommendations, or anything else you are curious about.

Outdoor Newborn Photoshoot in the Surrey Hills | Surrey Family & Dog Photographer

A newborn baby girl sleeping during an outdoor photoshoot in the Surrey Hills.

Mina was outstanding!
We have a two-week-old baby, and our dog, and I was so nervous it would work as our baby could want a feed at any point, but from the first minute, Mina made us feel relaxed and comfortable.
We loved the two hours, and our dog was living his dream and was so well-behaved. Mina spent equal time with each of us and together. We have photos that we will adore for life, and will 100% book again.
Thank you, Mina
— Gaby

Autumn in the Surrey Hills is my favourite time of year to take family portraits. The air feels crisp, the colours deepen into warm golds and russets, and families instinctively draw closer together. This year has been a beautifully busy one for me as a family photographer, with back to back outdoor family sessions across Surrey, newborn photoshoots both in Surrey and London and many couple & dog photo session. But one newborn photo session in the Surrey Hills has stayed with me in a special way. It was a morning filled with gentle autumnal light and a slight warmth in the air.

The family were a lovely foursome who had recently welcomed a beatiful brand new baby girl. Coincidentally their daughter’s birthday was on the same day as my daughter’s which created an instant connection. They also brought along Buster, their affectionate cream labrador who they rehomed a few years prior and was very much an important part of the family. In the days leading up to the session the rain barely stopped, but on the morning of our shoot the clouds finally lifted. What emerged was that perfect autumn morning every Surrey newborn photographer hopes for! Cool, bright, and wonderfully still - perfect for lifestyle newborn photography.

A Relaxed Outdoor Baby and Dog Photoshoot Near Dorking in Surrey

We met at Abinger Roughs and Netley Park near Dorking, one of my favourite National Trust locations for outdoor family and dog photography. The varied scenery is ideal for a newborn photo session in the Surrey Hills, offering everything from woodland glades to sweeping views across the countryside. It feels peaceful and secluded, giving parents space to settle in and breathe.

The baby stirred as soon as she arrived and showed signs of being hungry, so I suggested an unhurried breastfeeding break before we began. One of the things I love about outdoor family sessions is the flexibility they offer. There is no rush and no pressure. Babies can feed, nap, or be held close whenever they need it. While her mother got comfortable, I spent a few minutes photographing Buster. He trotted in eager circles, ears perked, delighted to be part of the action. His enthusiasm made for lovely pet portraits, from bounding action shots to quiet moments where he paused and looked toward us with soft eyes.

Natural Newborn Photography in the Surrey Hills

Once the baby had finished feeding, we wandered slowly into the woods. The dappled light filtered through the beech trees, creating a naturally gentle backdrop for newborn photography. I photographed the family walking together, their daughter cosy and content, her parents gazing down at her with that unmistakable mix of pride and awe. As always, my approach was to guide lightly, set the scene, then step back and allow natural family interactions to unfold. The most meaningful images often come from unposed moments, and this family slipped into those moments so beautifully.

Buster stayed close by, occasionally nudging his way into the frame in the softest and sweetest ways. Including pets in a newborn photoshoot often adds a unique charm, especially when the pet already adores the new baby. His presence made their photographs feel even more heartfelt and complete.

As we continued along the woodland paths, the scenery opened into a wide field overlooking the Surrey countryside. The landscape stretched out in muted autumn tones and I stepped further back to capture a few wide angle frames. These images always highlight the scale of the natural surroundings and the small, tender bubble the family inhabit within it. There is something poetic about new parents walking through such expansive space, holding the tiniest new life close to their hearts.

Autumn Outdoor Family Portraits

We finished our loop by stopping at the Witches Tree, one of Abinger Roughs’ most striking landmarks. The canopy glowed with the full spectrum of autumnal colour, and it felt like the perfect final spot for a few quiet portraits. The family gathered beneath the branches, taking in the moment, and I captured the gentle stillness of their new beginning.

Outdoor newborn photography has a special rhythm. Babies settle easily, parents feel more relaxed, and the environment becomes part of their story. This dog friendly family photoshoot in the Surrey Hills captured everything I love about this work. Unscripted connection, natural moments, and the timeless beauty of the Hills.

Why Choose an Outdoor Newborn Photoshoot in Surrey

Dogs love it here, with plenty of space to run around, explore and make friends.

About Me — Surrey Newborn Photographer

Hi! I am Mina, the newborn and family photographer behind Mina Milanovic Photography. My style is natural, gentle, and rooted in storytelling. I believe newborn sessions should feel relaxed and real rather than staged or rushed. Whether photographing at home or outdoors, my aim is always to create images that feel authentic and emotionally rich, reflecting who you truly are as a family. The Surrey Hills has become one of my favourite places to work, offering peaceful landscapes that beautifully complement the quiet moments of early parenthood.

Best outdoor locations for baby photos Surrey

Surrey has so many amazing locations for newborn photography as well as family & dog portraits. Abinger Roughs and Netely park is certanly one of my favourite spots. Other favourite locations include Holmbury Hill, Leith Hill, Friday Street, Headley Heath, Blackheath Common, the picturesque village of Shere, Box Hill and so many other places! If you have a favourite location where you would like to have your family photographs taken, please get in touch to discuss this further.

Three Tips For Taking Great Newborn & Dog Photos

Whether you want to have a go at taking newborn and pet photographs on your own, or you have an up-coming photo session, here are 3 tips for a successful newborn & dog photo session:

  • Discuss the photo session with your clients. Find out what they would like to get out of it, what they feel comfortable with and whether they have any ideas for locations and shots.

  • Choose a location which is well suited for a family with a newborn baby and a dog. For some families this will be their home, their local park, or a beautiful woodland walk. Each family is different so it is important to be flexible and agree on location that works for everyone.

  • Create a relaxing environment. Choosing a great location is the first step in making people feel comfortable with taking pictures, but the second one is reassuring them that all will be well. Babies and children take cues from their parents, so making parents relaxed and engaged in what they feel comfortable doing will calm babies and engage the kids, and this type of interaction makes for great photos.

Autumnal Family Photo Session in Putney | London Family Photographer in Wandsworth Park

Autumnal Family Photo Session

The beginning of autumn is such a lovely time for family photography. The weather is still mild, the leaves are on the trees but starting to gain their autumnal colours and summer flowers lingering about. On top of all that, the light starts to gain a softer quality - ideal for family portraits.

Putney Family Session with a one year old

I was contacted by previous clients who’s wedding I photographed a couple of years ago with a wonderful news that their family has expanded. They asked if they could book in a family photo session with a one year old, which I was totally over the moon with!

Wandsworth Park Family Photography

We chosse to meet at Wandsworth park, the family’s local park, minutes away from the bustling Putney high street, and moments away from the River Thames. I have never photographed here before and was suprpised by the variety of areas. We took a walk around and incorporated some classic family portraits with action shots, baby portraits and striking silhouettes. There was a gorgeous avenue of London plane trees which was my favourite, and a wildlife meadow area - perfect for those relaxed family portraits.

My clients have asked me to respect their privacy, so I am only showing a couple of photographs here for which I got their approval. If you would like to book a family photo session in Putney, Wandsworth Park, or anywhere else in London, please get in touch I would love to hear from you.

South London Micro Wedding Photographer | Camberwell House Wedding

There is something deeply special about intimate weddings. With only the couple and their closest family, the atmosphere shifts to a slower, more mellow and warmer pace. As a South London wedding photographer, I’ve come to love these smaller celebrations that strip everything back to what truly matters: love, family, and the honest joy of two people choosing each other. This beautiful Sothwark micro wedding was one of those days I’ll carry with me for a long time.

I arranged to meet the wedding couple at their South London flat, and take a few photos of the couple and their family at home. The couple’s home was filled with deeply personal and meaningful things which I wanted to incorporate into the photos. The bride needed a few private moments to finish getting ready, so I took the time to take several portraits of the groom, looking splendid in a bright yellow suit and a hat, a gift from his grandfather. It was a also a chance to photograph the groom’s parents and the details of the flowers and wedding rings.

Once the bride was ready and everyone gathered, we set off on a short 10 min walk to Camberwell House, Southwark Registry Office.

An afternoon at Camberwell House Registry Office

The wedding ceremony was held at Camberwell House, Southwark Registry Office. Nestled in the heart of South London, this 19th century Grade II listed property was the perfect setting for this couple's heartfelt ceremony. It is a quiet, characterful spot full of charm and a sense of history, a fitting venue for an intimate exchange of vows.

The ceremony was held in the Garden Room, an elegant room offering access to the beautiful gardens. The bride and groom waited for their families to come in and get settled. The bride wore a stunning floral dress, made with embroided lace fabric, designed by a Kosovo-born designer Teuta Matoshi. She was holding a bouquet filled with delicate garden flowers like daisies and cosmos.

Inside the registry office, the ceremony was full of quiet emotion. A few tears, a few laughs, and a lot of love. As a photographer, I love to capture these unscripted moments, which will hopefully bring joy to my clients in years to come.

After the ceremony, we stepped into the garden for some fresh air and for a few group photos.

South London Gallery as a wedding venue

From Camberwell House, we took a very short walk to South London Gallery, a gem of a space offering their effortlesly cool space as a wedding venue. The gallery room where the reception was held was a dream to photograph in - clean lines, white walls, and flooded with natural light. It was an inspired choice for this art-loving couple, who had spent many weekends visiting and organising exhibitions here before ever imagining they’d celebrate their wedding inside its walls.

Before the arrival of two very special guests, the groom’s grandparents, and while the parents enjoyed tasting home-made kamucha and a glass of bubbly, we snuck outside into the garden to take a few couples portraits. Thre outside space was lovely, offering different backdrops and features for photography. There was also quite a bit of greenery and flowers which I was keen to incorporate into the photographs.

Reception at South London Gallery

Reception was relaxed and joyful, with a long table set for just their nearest and dearest. The groom’s grandparents joined the party, which was a very tender moment. I was lucky enough to have my grandmother attend my own wedding so I know just how special that is. The table was laid with candles, flowers, hand-written place cards, and a playlist curated by the groom, everything chosen with care. The speeches were some of the most heartfelt I’ve ever heard. The groom’s mum gave a speach in Romanian, a nod to the bride’s heritige. The reception finished with a song the groom dedicated and sang to the bride, and finally with the cake being cut and served for everyone to enjoy (including myself!).

This micro wedding was truly special, and one I will cherish in many years to come.

Why Micro Weddings Matter

As a South London wedding photographer, I’ve seen all types of celebrations, from bigger weddings to days like this one: intimate, meaningful, and full of soul. Micro weddings allow couples to slow down, be present, and surround themselves only with the people who know their love story best. There is time for long conversations and unhurried hugs. And from a photography point of view? That’s where the magic lives

Looking for a London Wedding Photographer?

If you are planning a micro wedding in South London, or a small intimate wedding, I’d love to hear from you! Whether you are getting married at Camberwell House, hosting a reception at South London Gallery, or planning something entirely different, I believe your day should be captured honestly, beautifully, and with care. My approach is warm, relaxed, and documentary-led, focusing on real moments, natural light, and timeless tones.

Notting Hill Family Photo Shoot | Outdoor Newborn & Family Photography London

A Joyful Outdoor Newborn & Family Photography Session in Notting Hill

There’s something incredibly special about being invited back by returning clients. It’s not just a professional compliment, it also feels personal. Being welcomed back into the rhythm of a growing family, trusted to witness and document their journey once again.

This recent outdoor newborn and family photography session in Notting Hill was my fifth session with a family I’ve come to know and adore. Over the past few years, I’ve photographed their wedding, birthdays, and tender family moments as their story has unfolded. And this time, I was asked to meet and photograph their newest family member, baby number three, now five months old, in the familiar private garden of their West London neighbourhood.

Outdoor Newborn Photography with a 5-Month-Old

While “newborn” sessions traditionally happen within the first few weeks, photographing a five-month-old has its own magic. At this age, babies are just starting to show their personalities. This little one was full of smiles, chubby cheeks, cute fingers and toes, and already deeply engaged with the world around him.

We chose to take this family photography session outdoors in Notting Hill, embracing natural light and a private garden the family have access to. One of my favourite things about photographing in this part of London is how effortlessly beautiful it is and how hidden gardens create a perfect backdrop for natural light photography.

A Relaxed and Joyful Documentary-Style Family Session

My approach to family photography is lead by storeytelling, using documentary-style photography to tell a family’s story. With three children under the age of six, there’s already a beautiful, unfiltered rhythm to a session. One minute the older siblings are climbing on trees, the next they’re wanting to cuddle their new baby brother.

There’s a candid chaos that I welcome and work within, letting the children lead, being quick to spot moments of connection, and knowing that the most powerful photographs are often the unscripted ones.

A Family I’ve Watched Grow

Photographing the same family over several years is a gift. I’ve watched this family grow, seen their dynamics shift, and witnessed the joy the children bring to their parents’ lives. During our latest session, we took a quiet moment to replicate a photo from a previous shoot, the two older siblings cuddling on a garden bench. This time, with their baby brother tucked between them, it felt like a perfect full-circle moment.

These kinds of storytelling photographs hold so much meaning. They become a visual timeline of a family’s evolution, layered with love, laughter, and life.

Why Outdoor Family Sessions Work So Well

While many imagine newborn photography as indoor, wrapped, and stylised, I’m here to champion outdoor newborn and family photography as a beautiful, natural alternative. Especially in London, where parks and architecture blend so seamlessly, taking your session outdoors can lead to the most stunning, timeless portraits.

Natural light, fresh air, and space for children to move freely all contribute to the relaxed, authentic feel of the images. And for families with older siblings, it’s often a much more enjoyable and stress-free experience.

About Me: Mina Milanovic Photography

Hi! I am Mina, a Surrey-based family photographer specialising in natural light, storytelling photography that captures the honest beauty of everyday moments. I’ve been photographing families in London (and beyond) for over a decade, and I bring a calm, warm energy to every session.

My work is rooted in connection, between a parent and a child, between siblings, and between families and the places they call home. Whether it’s an afternoon in your local park or a morning in your living room, I want to help you remember not just what this season looked like, but what it felt like.

Family & Pet Photography in the Surrey Hills | Natural Outdoor Family Photos with Dogs

A Morning With a Family and Their Romanian Rescue Dog | Family & Pet Photography in the Surrey Hills

I was recently contacted by a lovely lady who received a photography gift voucher for a family photo session with their Romanian rescue dog. It’s always such a joy when people want to include their pets in a family photo session, especially rescue animals, who so often have such moving stories behind them. I was delighted and honored to have been asked to document this family’s memories.

After chatting through a few ideas, we decided to meet early one summer morning at National Trust Abinger Roughs and Netley Park, tucked away in the beautiful Surrey Hills. It’s one of those places that always feels just a little bit magical - peaceful, full of texture, and with enough space to let everyone (including the dog!) breathe and explore.

We chose an early start to avoid the crowds and give the dog a calm, quiet environment to settle into. The morning began overcast with soft, diffused light filtering through the trees - which is actually a photographer’s dream! Then, just as we were getting into our stride, the clouds parted and sunlight began to spill through the canopy. Perfect timing for dreamy family portraits!

Natural outdoor family and pet photography session in Surrey

With family sessions, I always like to begin with a few “together” shots. These are often the anchor of the session; images that show connection, closeness, and the little dynamics that make each family unique. Once I have those in the bag, we can relax a bit more, and that’s often when the real magic begins.

A family sharing a quiet moment with the family dog outdoors

Natural Outdoor Family Portraits with Pets

This family was a joy to photograph - warm, patient, and so caring for their dog, who had clearly come a long way since being rescued. It is always moving to see how much trust and love can develop between people and animals, and I think it really came through in the photos.

I also wanted to capture the bond of the little girl with her mum, so I observed their interaction and documented a few frames of the real genuine moments between the pair. And I couldn’t resist a portrait of their canine friend. The dog gradually relaxed, and I managed to capture some tender images of him looking up, eyes full of loyalty and affection.

As we wandered through woodland paths, we came across an area of wide open meadows, where cows were grazing in the distance. I noticed a fallen tree surrounded by wild flowers so I thought this would be a great scene to document the family relaxing and enjoying each other’s company - the laughter, the playfulness, the small gestures of care.

Pet Photographer in Surrey – Capturing Connection and Character

There’s something quietly powerful about photographing people and their pets. It’s not just about pretty portraits, it is about capturing a bond, a rhythm, a sense of belonging. This session was a gentle reminder of just how meaningful those connections are.

I left the Surrey Hills that morning with a full heart, a camera full of images, and a renewed love for what I do.

Chelsea Old Town Hall Wedding Photography | Intimate London Micro Wedding

Chelsea Old Town Hall Wedding Photography | An Intimate London Wedding

I was honoured to photograph a micro wedding at Chelsea Old Town Hall earlier this spring. I was first contacted by a very sweet couple last autumn, when they got in touch to enquire about my wedding photography services. I was over the moon when I found out that they recently became proud owners of the cutest little morkie puppy called Sami. FYI - a morkie is a cross between a Yorkshire terrier and a Maltese. We arranged to do an engagement photography session, but with a twist of adding the puppy to the shoot. So we called it an autumnal couple and puppy photo shoot, which took place on Wimbledon Common. Engagement sessions are a great way to meet your wedding photographer, and to capture some genuine memories of a special time in your lives as a couple. In this case - the perfect moment to capture the two brides-to-be with little Sami as a three month old bundle of fluff and joy. You can read more about our encounter, and see some photos from the puppy session here. I was so pleased that the couple was happy with the work I produced for them and that they decided to hire me as their Chelsea wedding photographer.

Chelsea Wedding Photography in the midst of RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Fast forward eight months, the season and location have changed. The couple have organised their intimate wedding ceremony at Chelsea Town Hall. The month was May and RHS Chelsea Flower Show was opening just down the road. The streets were filled with all sorts of flower arrangements and art pieces, from beautifully arranged flower displays in shop windows, to sculpted giant handbags decorated with huge flowers and bouquets, to a punk head art piece made out of plant materials and flowers. For someone who’s never been at Chelsea Flower Show and seen the surrounding mayhem, I was truly blown away! Although it was very tempting to photograph the couple on Chelsea High Road, the streets were getting busy so we agreed to stay close to the town hall and use some of the side streets as a back drop for couple portraits.

Couple Portrait Photography off King’s Road

This is the part of a wedding I really enjoy, having a quiet moment with the couple and finding photogenic backgrounds. We were walking around the side streets just off King’s Road, when I spotted a retro-looking cafe on a corner of a street. Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to take photographs inside, but I positioned the couple in front of the cafe window and took a few portraits which ended up being some of my favourites. Little morkie Sami was truly in her element, enjoying plentiful cuddles and nearly stealing the show!

We continued exploring the neighbourhood, passing by a bright yellow wall inviting us for another set of couple portraits. I noticed a tree shadow being cast on the wall which I thought would create an interesting visual look together with the brides and their pooch. It is always a fun challenge incorporating shadows (or reflections) into portraiture, for me it definitely adds visual interest to a photograph.

We were getting tight with time, so after a few individual portraits of each bride, we looped back and headed for the town hall in preparation for the wedding ceremony.

CHELSEA OLD TOWN HALL INTIMATE WEDDING

Chelsea Old Town Hall is one of the most elegant and tasteful London wedding venues. The newly refurbished, Grade II listed Victorian property is the perfect setting for a small wedding. The ceremony rooms have been painted in pleasing pastel shades, decorated with beautiful artwork and exquisite flower arrangements, perfect for wedding photography.

Dog-friendly wedding at Chelsea Old Town Hall

The wedding party got settled into the Rossetti room, waiting for the arrival of the two brides. Sami was looked after by one of the friends, and was waiting patiently. It was such a sweet sight to see a dog at a wedding! It was a lovely, warm and welcoming ceremony, lead by such a kind, professional registar, who made everyone feel welcome. After the ceremony, everyone gathered at the steps for a few group shots, before heading over to Charlotte’s cloud, a friendly local cafe with great staff and amazing food. I stayed to take a few informal shots of everyone enjoying their time together, before leaving the party to relax and enjoy a more private celebration.

Micro Wedding Photography in London

In the last five years or so, small wedding photography, or micro wedding photography as it is known has become an appealing option for couples looking to capture a part of their wedding, rather than a whole day. I love photographing a full wedding day from bridal preparations to the first dance but I also enjoy a shorter wedding coverage. This is why I offer tailored wedding photography packages starting from 2h to full day coverage. For more information, please visit my wedding photography page.

Couple & Dog Photography at Isabella Plantation | London Dog Photographer in Richmond Park

RICHMOND park’s secret garden

Isabella Plantation in Richmond park is one of my all time favourite places to visit. It is a secluded Victorian woodland garden in the middle of the park, which from early March onward becomes transformed with smells and sights of camellias, rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolias, bluebells and many more magnificent plant species. It is a feast for the senses and provides a beautiful backdrop for photography.

Couple and Dog Photo Shoot at Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park

I was lucky enough to have not only one but two photo sessions there this year. The first one was a newborn photo session in the peak of the flowering season - everywhere you looked were beautiful shades of pink, red, violet, yellow, orange, green and blue. The second photo shoot was with a very sweet couple and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called Crumpet. We met early in the morning to avoid the crowds. It was a beautiful spring morning, the sun was shining and the air was filled with the sweet smell of rhododendrons. We started the session at still pond, normally the busiest part of the garden. Azaleas around the pond were slightly past their peak, providing a less intense colour as the backdrop. I used a nearby japanese acer tree to frame the shot and placed the couple in front of the pond. We stayed around this area to take a few more portraits of everyone together, and of Crumpet on his own.

London Dog Photographer

We continued our walk through the plantation to Thompson’s pond and Peg’s pond, stopping along the way to smell the flowers, look at ducklings and most importantly capture preciousmemories. Working as London dog photographer, I love the challenge of photographing in new places. Although I visited Isabella plantation countless times, I previously did only one dog photo shoot there, which was later in the season and after the flowering season. Therefore, this couple & dog photo session felt completely fresh and inspired me to think of new locations, backdrops and photography techniques which I previously haven’t used in this location.

Outdoor Portrait Photography

Looping around and going back towards the car park, we passed through a quiet area of the garden, filled with bluebells, old chestnut trees, rhododendrons and bracken. It was in this area where a fallen chestnut tree caught my eye, its exposed roots creating a sculptural shape which I wanted to incorporate into the portraits of my subjects.

Relaxed Pet Photography

At this point, Crumpet was getting a little tired from all the hard work of posing, so I suggested we take a short break. With everyone relaxed, I could work unobtrusively to capture a few detailed shots of the dog and a few shots of the couple with Crumpet which felt more intimate.

Photographing Dogs in Action

Outside of the plantation, and with Crumpet off the lead, it was time for action shots! I love doing these shots, especially with breeds with long ears. The resulting images are filled with joy and happiness - ears flapping, tongue dangling, leaping through the air - definition of a happy puppy!

Surrey Wedding Photographer at the Luxury Country House of Lord Beaverbrook

Private Birthday Celebration at Beaverbrook Luxury Country House Hotel

One of the things I love about my job is witnessing families I photograph go though different milestones in their life, including big birthdays. On this occasion, my clients invited me to Beaverbrook Country House near Leatherhead to capture their loved one’s 80th birthday celebration. It was an intimate family lunch followed by cake and family time at Beaverbrook’s stunning gardens.

Nestled in the gently rolling Surrey hills near Leatherhead, Beaverbrook feels at once grand and welcoming. A place where you sense the stories of the past quietly echoing through the corridors, mingling with the laughter and excitement of celebrations unfolding today. Beaverbrook is the quintessential English country house, a former home to William Maxwell Aitket, 1st Baron Beaverbrook, a press mogul and a friend of Winston Churchill. Formaly known as Cherkley Court, the house was build in the second half of the 19th centrury for Abraham Dixon, a metal exporter. The house was acquired by Lord Beaverbrook in 1910 who lived there for the next 50 years and enterntained many well known figures such as Winston Churchill, Bonar Law, H.G. Wells and many others. From the late nineties, for a couple of decades, the house went through restoration, changes in menagement and ultimately in 2017 opened as “Beaverbrook” - an exquisite country house hotel and a space that hosts weddings and parties of all kinds.

And it was a wonderful venue for the milestone birthday gathering I photographed. The family made a booking for a private dining space inside, a room decorated with wood panneling and elegant mahogany furniture. It was a lovely space where the family could enjoy a meal and instantly feel relaxed. After blowing candels on an impressive mustang shaped cake, we stepped outside for family portraits.

Wedding Photography at the Luxury Home of Lord Beaverbrook

In addition to being a venue for private gatherings, events and parties, Beaverbrook’s elegant interiors and 470 acre gardens can be hired as an intimate wedding venue. Working as a wedding photographer, I am always drawn to venues that feel authentic, where the atmosphere is as important as the architecture. Beaverbrook is exactly that sort of place. It is grand and sophisticated yet warm and welcoming. From the moment I stepped in, the staff greeted me with warmth and kindness, directing me to where I needed to go.

I was inspired by the beautifully decorated gardens, seeing photo opportunities in every nook and corner. For a couple who wishes to have their wedding portraits taken here, the choices are limitless. From the stunning view of the surrounding Surrey Hills, to the stone garden temples, wide garden paths thoughtfully planted and alive with seasonal colour, views of the house itself - t - there is something for every taste.

If you’re thinking about Beaverbrook for your wedding or celebration, I can wholeheartedly recommend a visit. Take a walk through the gardens, linger over tea in the Morning Room, and imagine how your day might unfold. It really is a place where memories are made.
