Family photoshoot, Dulwich, London Borough of Southwark

I recently spent a fun morning in Dulwich park, South East London taking photos of this little charmer. Lewyn is such a sweet little boy - really easy going and so smiley. He was feeling a bit under the weather on the day we arranged our photoshoot, but as soon as we got to the park he was happy to show off his newly acquired walking skills and enjoyed riding his little red scooter. We finished the photoshoot with a few cozy captures at home.

Late winter/early spring is a great time for outdoor photography. The overcast days, although slightly depressing looking, work really well in photography as clouds diffuse the light to give even lighting on the subjects. Lack of colourful plants and flowers make it easier to find areas where colours are part of the same family, avoiding introduction of primary colours such as red, green and blue into the background. Although these colours can work great in photographs, their presence in backgrounds requires special attention as they can draw focus away from the subject. Bare tree branches and trunks come in a variety of brown, ochre and green tones. These, together with green tones of evergreen plants are a part of the same colour palette which work lovely as a simple backdrop. Placing your subjects in a scene where colours are similar will create a visually pleasing photograph, and will make your subjects the main focus of attention.

Family photo session in Camberwell, London / Family photographer London and Surrey

I am delighted to share these photos of Ellie and her family, which I took a week or so before her 1st birthday. I photographed Ellie when she was only three months old and it was so nice to see the transformation from a tiny baby to an (almost) walking toddler.

We started our photo session in a local park where Ellie enjoyed walking through dry leaves and going on the swings. Back at home, I was able to capture a bit more walking practice, playtime with mum and dad and a few cozy family moments.

I really enjoyed this photo session and selecting a few photos to share wasn't easy. Here is a selection of several of my favourites.

Family photo session, Hampton, Greater London

This delayed blog post is from a photoshoot I did back in late September when days were still warm and long. It was a beautiful autumnal day, and it was a joy to capture a few relaxing family moments at a local park in Hampton, as well as the boys playfulness in the comfort of their new home. This little cutie was all smiles and giggles as I photographed him with his lovely family in their home in Cheam, Greater London. The good mood continued as we went for a walk in Nonsuch park, a beautiful open space featuring Nonsuch Manor House, some lovely flower arrangements and a colourful pergola rose walk. I really enjoyed capturing these intimate family moments, and it was hard work selecting a few images to feature in this blog post. Hope you enjoy them!

It was such a joy photographing this lovely family in their home in Sutton. We did the entire photo session at home but managed to go outside for a bit and capture a few moments in their beautiful garden. It was really hard choosing just a few favourites, but here are several that I hope you enjoy!

This recent photo shoot in Northfields, West London was a nice mix of indoor and outdoor photography. I really ejoyed capturing these family moments in the comfort of their home, and at a playground in Lammas park.
