East London Dog Photographer | A Relaxed Couple & Dog Photo Session

Natural, heartfelt storytelling with London Dog Photographer Mina Milanovic

These photos make me smile every time I look at them. They were taken during a couple & dog photoshoot in East London, back in November, with the sweetest little dachshund who trotted through the session as if he’d been modelling his whole life. As a London Dog Photographer, I’m lucky to witness moments like these where love, connection and the quirks of a much-adored pup come together to create something genuinely special.

An Outdoor Autumn Pet Photography Session

Autumn in London has a magic that is impossible to describe without living it—the kind of magic that reveals itself slowly, like the warmth of a coat you’ve just pulled from the radiator. This day was no exception. The sky kept threatening rain, brooding and dramatic, but somehow we escaped every drop. Instead, the sun pushed through for small bursts of golden light that illuminated the park in rich amber tones.

The air had that crispness I secretly love. I might be a summer girl at heart, but autumn always wins me over with its warm colour palette, gentle textures and quiet atmosphere. Perfect conditions for natural dog photography, especially when a little dachshund is happily leading the way.

We met in a local East London park and set off for a loop around the paths. Moving together like this is my favourite way to photograph couples and their dogs. No stiff posing, no pressure—just a gentle walk, stopping whenever the scenery, the light or the pup’s antics gave us a moment worth capturing.
There were fallen leaves that crunched under tiny paws, tangled branches that framed the couple beautifully, and long grass that turned golden as the sun slipped through. The frames we made there feel warm and real, the kind of photographs that look like memories rather than staged portraits.

Indoors for Cosy Dog Photography

After we’d had our fill of the cold—or rather, after the dachshund announced it was time—we headed back to their home for the final part of the session. Indoor pet photography has a softness of its own, especially when the warmth of home wraps around everyone.

We captured snuggles on the sofa, the kind where a sleepy dog melts into their humans, the kind you wish you could bottle up forever. These quieter, slower frames often become favourites because they feel honest and familiar. They’re a little reminder of what everyday love really looks like.

This particular photo session was a birthday gift, which made it even more special. Photography has a way of becoming a keepsake that only grows in meaning over time, especially when a beloved pet is part of the family story.

Why Choose a Couple & Dog Photoshoot in London

London is full of hidden corners, atmospheric parks and cosy indoor spaces that lend themselves beautifully to storytelling pet photography. Whether we’re wandering through a leafy park in East London or capturing gentle moments at home, the aim is always the same: to create photographs that feel like you, your relationship and the bond you have with your dog.
Couple & Dog Photography in London is not about posing for the camera; it’s about documenting joy, connection and the small moments you don’t even realise you’ll want to remember.

About Me

I’m Mina, a London Dog Photographer specialising in natural, heartfelt couple and pet photography. My approach is relaxed and story-driven. I believe the best photos come from genuine connection—not forced smiles or rigid posing.

As someone who adores animals and has photographed dogs of every size and temperament, I understand the joy (and occasional chaos!) they bring. My sessions are planned with patience, humour and flexibility so your dog can simply be themselves. Whether we’re outdoors exploring or curled up at home, I’m there to document the story of your relationship in an honest and beautiful way.

How to Book Your Photography Session

Booking a session is simple.
Just reach out with your preferred season, location ideas or any thoughts you have about what you’d like captured. If you’re not sure yet, that’s absolutely fine—I’m always happy to help shape a session around what feels meaningful to you.

Once we find a date, I’ll guide you through the entire process, from planning locations to preparing for your dog’s comfort, all the way to choosing your final images and artwork. Sessions are available throughout London for outdoor, indoor or mixed-location shoots.

Photography Gift Vouchers

If you’re thinking of giving someone the gift of memories, photography gift vouchers are a perfect choice. Whether it’s for a birthday, anniversary or a “just because” surprise, a Couple & Dog Photoshoot or Pet Photography session becomes a sentimental, lasting gift.

Gift vouchers can be purchased for full sessions or as a custom amount. To buy one, simply contact me and I’ll prepare a beautifully presented digital or printed voucher that you can give to your loved one.

If these images make you smile as much as they make me smile, I would love to create something meaningful for you too. Family and dog photoshoot in Bushy Park

I have been working as a professional family and pet photographer since 2015, after hanging up my lab coat and retiring from the world of cancer research.

English Bulldog Photography

Since starting work as a professional photographer, I have photographed English bulldogs only once. Therefore, I was so excited to be contacted by this senior lady’s owner who wanted a few portraits of her and a few photographs of his daughter with the dog.

English bulldogs have a great face for photography. They are so expressive and can appear grumpy, silly, comical and sweet as quickly as the weather changes in the UK. I wanted to show different facets of this canine’s personality in a set of portrait, action and natural looking photographs.

London Dog Photographer in Bushy Park

We met up in Bushy park in South West London, and spent a couple of hours walking, running, posing, climbing trees and taking photographs. It was an overcast day, lighting was nice and even, and everyone enjoyed making and capturing memories.

Senior Dog Photography

I’ve recently lost both my cats. Looking at the photos of them connects me back to a certain time in their (and my) life, and brings back so many joyful memories. I feel very privileged that pet owners put their trust in me to capture a memory of their pet for them. If you have a senior dog (or cat) and you would like to arrange a senior pet photo session with me, please get in touch. I will be working with you to understand your pet and their needs, and to try to capture memories for you which you can look back with fornd memories long after they’re gone.

London Dog Photographer | Christmas Dog Photo Session in Central London

Christmas Dog Photography

My client received a gift from her friends for a one hour dog photo session. We arranged to meet at London Bridge and explore the surround area, visiting some of the iconic London sites. We started the photo session with a classic Christmas shot - right in front of a Christmas tree. From there we moved on to Tower Bridge where we spent a few playful minutes running around on the frosty grass, with one of the most iconic London landmarks providing a majestic backdrop.

London Dog Photographer

As a London dog photographer, I travel all over London photographing dogs and their owners. Although I travel to different areas of London, I haven’t photographed in the heart of London for a while. I was so excited to be back in the city, to experience the hustle and bustle of pre-Christmas London and to photograph in the urban landscape which provides a different, yet equally compelling, canvas for dog photography. We met up at London Bridge, and from there went towards Tate Modern, St Pauls and Southbank.

Couple and Dog Photo Session in Greenwich Park

Couple and Dog Photo Session in Greenwich

This was a really special couple and pet photo session as it was a surprise birthday present. We arranged to meet early in the morning in beautiful Greenwich park, to avoid the crowds. It was an overcast day in the middle of autumn, so the autumnal colours were on full display - the perfect setting for couple and dog photoshoot. I was eager to capture the bond between this couple and their dog, and also to showcase the stunning backdrop that is Greenwich park.

Couple and Dog Photoshoot

We started the session by taking a few formal portraits on the steps. I use the first 5-10 min of the session to assess the overall energy of the people and animals I am photographing. If everyone has calm energy, we can take it easy and do quite a few sitting down shots. If the energy is on the opposite side of the spectrum, I would change things around and start the session with action shots. This is particularly useful when a high energy dog, like this cheeky cocker spaniel is one of my subjects. I took a few frames of the couple sitting down, but then quickly moved to action photography.

Dog Photographer Taking Action Shots

Photographing dogs in action can be done in many ways, using slow shutter speed or fast shutter speed, dogs running, swimming or jumping. This little lady was really keen to run so I decided to take a few shots of her running right towards me, tongue out and ears flapping in the wind. I love the resulting shots - they are fun and showcase her high energy and fun-loving spirit.

Couple and Pet Photoshoot Greenwich

Family Photography with a Dog

Once the dog had a good run around, it was time to regroup. We spent a bit more time in the park, walking around and finding a few more backdrops, initially in the park itself, then next to the cafe. I have really fond memories of this photoshoot, and Greenwich is quickly becoming my new favourite place to photograph couples and their dogs in.

The Perfect Gift with Pet Photography Gift Vouchers

In recent months, I have been doing more and more couple and pet photography sessions. These sessions are really fun and meaningful as they not only offer a unique way to capture your beloved pet, but also your relationship with it. If you are searching for a unique gift for the pet lover in your life, look no further than pet photography gift vouchers. These tokens of affection not only celebrate the bond between pets and their owners but also provide a lasting keepsake that will be treasured for years to come.

A unique Christmas gift

Pet photography gift vouchers offer a departure from the ordinary. Instead of traditional presents, they provide an experience that is both personal and meaningful. In a world inundated with material gifts, a pet photography session stands out as a thoughtful and unforgettable way to show someone you care. The recepient will not only receive a set of beautiful photographs but an experience they will treasure for a lifetime. A perfect Christmas present!

London Dog Photographer in Bushy Park

This was a fun session, photographing three Black labs. Well…Two Black labs and a lab-hungarian viszla cross. I photographed one of the labs a few years ago when she was only a puppy so it was really nice to be reunited and photograph this lovely lady enjoying Bushy park with her friends.

Autumnal Dog Photo Session

It was a sunny autumnal day, the sun was out but not too harsh and the dogs were happy, energetic and loving the camera! Autumn is a really nice season to be taking dog photographs. Days are still not too cold, the colours are gorgeous, the sun is lower in the sky so there is less glare and occasionally, if you are really lucky, there is mist and fog which add to the atmosphere. It is one on my favourite times to have dog photoshoots.

Photographing Multiple Dogs

I really enjoyed getting to know this little band and seeing their characters come through - the sensible one, the energetic one and the cheeky one - can you spot them all? Below are some of the photos from the shoot, I hope you love them as much as I do!

If you would like to arrange a multiple dog photo session, please give me a ring or send me an email. I love photographing dogs - the more the merrier!

Family Photo Session with Dog at Fulham Palace

London Family Photographer

A few years ago, I went to an open air cinema event at Fulham Palace, a gorgeous estate on the banks of the river, right next to Putney Bridge in West London. It was a warm summer’s evening and the palace grounds were the perfect backdrop to “When Harry Met Sally”.

Family Photoshoot with Dog

Fast forward several years, and I was back at Fulham Palace to photograph a lovely family with a dog. The grounds were even more beautiful than I remembered with lots of varied backdrounds for family portraits and dog shots. The dog was so sweet, resembling a real life nanny, looking after the baby and checking in on him.

London Children Photographer

The baby (or toddler!) was around a year old, he was finding his feet and loved crawling and walking. This made it difficult to position him at times but I’ve learned over the years that with children you have to go with the flow, and adjust your working style to suit their needs. Therefore, I was on the go a lot!

Dog Photography in Fulham

During this family and pet photo session, I worked fast to photograph the family in various locations, and get a variety of shots for my client. Here are some of my favourite images from this London family and dog photo shoot, hope you like them too!

Senior Dog Photo Session in East London

London Dog Photographer

I recently photographed several senior dogs who were nearing the end of their life. Their owners wanted to document a few precious moments with them in their old age. They also wanted to celebrate their long life as well as the long friendship they had together.

Senior Dog Photography

This is Daisy, a black labrador who’s health was rapidly deteriorating. Her owners wated to have a few photographs of all of them together as a memory of their time. We arranged to meet at Dagenham in East London, and photograph Daisy at the Chase Nature Reserve where she loves going for walks. It was important to capture the couple together with Daisy, but also to photograph Daisy on her own, to capture her character and personality at her old age.

Meaningful Dog Photography

Senior dog photography sessions (or end of life dog photography sessions) are incredibly meaningful. As we strat to think about our pet nearing the end of their life, we revisit the journey we had with them from the moment we met them through all the big milestones and little moments in between. Some pets have been with us and members of our family for a very long time so naturally saying goodbye is hard and painful, and can feel devastating. From my own experience dealing with grief of a death of a pet, having some photos taken before you say your last goodbye is not only a nice memory but also the start of the greaving process.

End of Life Dog Photography

If you are interested in booking a senior dog photography session with me, please get in touch. I have photographed a few senior dogs recently and they were so special that I decided to make them available to more people. I am now offering free local one hour senior dog photo sessions (travel outside of my local area will be charged) which are well suited for one pet with their owner. Should you wish to extend the photo session to 2h and have your partner/family/other dog join in, a top up fee will be charged. Prints and digital files will be available to purchase. For more information, please email me through my website.

Forest Hill Family Photoshoot

I have photographed this loving family on their favourite nature walk in the Forest Hill / Dulwich area. We spent the first hour or so outside, enjoying a mild spring day, then went back home for a cup of tea and some more indoor shots.

I don’t often photograph older children so I wasn’t quite so sure how this photo session will go. However as soon as I met everyone I realised that this was going to be a relaxed, fun family photo shoot! Since this was a family photo session with a dog, the kids had lots to tell me about their dog which was a great starting point for a conversation. I subsequently found out all about their interests and hobbies, which enabled me to build a trusting connection with them needed to be able to capture genuine moments on photographs. The boys and the whole family were absolute stars and made my work on the day a dream.

I love this set of family portraits, especially that some of the photos captured the closeness of their relationship and a few really geniune moments.

If you would like to arrange a family photo session in your local area, please get in touch, I would love to hear from you!

Couples photo session with dog in Wimbledon Common

Spring Photo Session with Dog In South London

Pets add a different dimension to a photoshoot, and it is no different with couples photography sessions. Whenever there is a dog involved, people and children tend to relax much quicker in front of the camera than in situations without a dog. So, during this spring couples and dog photography session in Wimbledon, we got straight into some loving and relaxed moments. It was an overcast day, which provided even lighting for all my subjects.

Dog and Couple Photography

I quite like to start the session with a together image of the couple and their four legged friend. This can be with a couple having a cuddle with their dog, or walking along a path. I try to observe the interaction and capture genuine moments which grab my attention and catch my eye. This path by a pond with trees scattered around appeared like a great setting for a walking (or running!) shot so we spent some time exploring different angles. This was my favourite image of the lot - I like how the trees in the foreground and background frame the dog and the couple in the distance.

Dog Portrait Photography

After the initial group shot, I move on and take several different dog portrait photographs. During this shoot, a lovely patch of sand by a pond in Wimbledon common caught my eye, so I decided to photograph the dog here. I love how the dog is contrasted by the sand in this portrait, no distractions but looking strait into her beautiful hazel eyes.

Surrey Dog Photographer

I work all across the South East, and have been to many beautiful locations. Surrey offers great locations for pet and couple photoshoots - it has beautiful towns, nature reserves and wooded areas but also has great countryside in the middle of urban areas - like Wimbledon common. This time of year, common gorse is in full bloom and Wimbledon common has plenty of gorse shrubs - a perfect backdrop! Incorporating nature into photoshoots gives a sense of place but also a sesnse of time as you will always be reminded of the time of year the photoshoot took place.

Photographing Dogs In Action

A dog photoshoot wouldn’t be complete without some fun action shots. Photographing dogs in action is great fun and reveals another layer of dog’s personality. Here - a head on action shot taken from a low angle, with three legs in the ear and ears flapping high, it shows the dogs love of running and makes for a really fun image.

If you are thinking of having a couples photography session with your dog, or a family photo session with your dog, get in touch, I would love to hear from you! Alternatively, you can purchase a gift voucher as an alternative gift idea for your friend or loved one. I look forward to hearing from you!

End of Life Dog Photography Session in Kidbrook, London

Senior Dog Photography

Doing senior dog photography sessions is always such an honour. It is a chance for dog owners to celebrate the life of their beloved pet, the friendship with their best friend(s) and to capture fun, meaningful memories through a set of beautiful photographs.

Celebration Session

End of life celebration sessions take place outside, at your pet’s favourite location, or at home depending on how mobile your pet is. I will spend some time capturing a variety of images, from portrait shots to action shots and most importantly, capturing your unique bond with your dog.

Gentle Special Assistance Dog

A lovely thing about meeting senior dogs is that you get to hear their stories and what they did as younger versions of themselves. This sweet black labrador lady was the gentlest and most loving dog. She developed cancer so her owner knew she didn’t have much time and wanted to capture a few moments in their favourite park. When they were going to pick her up from the breeder, there was a big snow storm (this was in America), and the owner’s children suggested they name the puppy Elsa (a character from the Disney film Frozen). Elsa grew up to be a service dog and spent most of her life helping her owner.

Dog Photography Gift Vouchers

Her owner’s friend gifted a photo session to celebrate a life well lived and a friendship which will last forever. We spent the morning around Cator park, creating memories and focusing on the relationship Elsa had with her owner. I thoroughly enjoed this senior dog photo session, and will treasure it for a really long time.

If you wish to enquire about an end of life fog photography session, please get in touch.
