East London Dog Photographer | A Relaxed Couple & Dog Photo Session

Natural, heartfelt storytelling with London Dog Photographer Mina Milanovic

These photos make me smile every time I look at them. They were taken during a couple & dog photoshoot in East London, back in November, with the sweetest little dachshund who trotted through the session as if he’d been modelling his whole life. As a London Dog Photographer, I’m lucky to witness moments like these where love, connection and the quirks of a much-adored pup come together to create something genuinely special.

An Outdoor Autumn Pet Photography Session

Autumn in London has a magic that is impossible to describe without living it—the kind of magic that reveals itself slowly, like the warmth of a coat you’ve just pulled from the radiator. This day was no exception. The sky kept threatening rain, brooding and dramatic, but somehow we escaped every drop. Instead, the sun pushed through for small bursts of golden light that illuminated the park in rich amber tones.

The air had that crispness I secretly love. I might be a summer girl at heart, but autumn always wins me over with its warm colour palette, gentle textures and quiet atmosphere. Perfect conditions for natural dog photography, especially when a little dachshund is happily leading the way.

We met in a local East London park and set off for a loop around the paths. Moving together like this is my favourite way to photograph couples and their dogs. No stiff posing, no pressure—just a gentle walk, stopping whenever the scenery, the light or the pup’s antics gave us a moment worth capturing.
There were fallen leaves that crunched under tiny paws, tangled branches that framed the couple beautifully, and long grass that turned golden as the sun slipped through. The frames we made there feel warm and real, the kind of photographs that look like memories rather than staged portraits.

Indoors for Cosy Dog Photography

After we’d had our fill of the cold—or rather, after the dachshund announced it was time—we headed back to their home for the final part of the session. Indoor pet photography has a softness of its own, especially when the warmth of home wraps around everyone.

We captured snuggles on the sofa, the kind where a sleepy dog melts into their humans, the kind you wish you could bottle up forever. These quieter, slower frames often become favourites because they feel honest and familiar. They’re a little reminder of what everyday love really looks like.

This particular photo session was a birthday gift, which made it even more special. Photography has a way of becoming a keepsake that only grows in meaning over time, especially when a beloved pet is part of the family story.

Why Choose a Couple & Dog Photoshoot in London

London is full of hidden corners, atmospheric parks and cosy indoor spaces that lend themselves beautifully to storytelling pet photography. Whether we’re wandering through a leafy park in East London or capturing gentle moments at home, the aim is always the same: to create photographs that feel like you, your relationship and the bond you have with your dog.
Couple & Dog Photography in London is not about posing for the camera; it’s about documenting joy, connection and the small moments you don’t even realise you’ll want to remember.

About Me

I’m Mina, a London Dog Photographer specialising in natural, heartfelt couple and pet photography. My approach is relaxed and story-driven. I believe the best photos come from genuine connection—not forced smiles or rigid posing.

As someone who adores animals and has photographed dogs of every size and temperament, I understand the joy (and occasional chaos!) they bring. My sessions are planned with patience, humour and flexibility so your dog can simply be themselves. Whether we’re outdoors exploring or curled up at home, I’m there to document the story of your relationship in an honest and beautiful way.

How to Book Your Photography Session

Booking a session is simple.
Just reach out with your preferred season, location ideas or any thoughts you have about what you’d like captured. If you’re not sure yet, that’s absolutely fine—I’m always happy to help shape a session around what feels meaningful to you.

Once we find a date, I’ll guide you through the entire process, from planning locations to preparing for your dog’s comfort, all the way to choosing your final images and artwork. Sessions are available throughout London for outdoor, indoor or mixed-location shoots.

Photography Gift Vouchers

If you’re thinking of giving someone the gift of memories, photography gift vouchers are a perfect choice. Whether it’s for a birthday, anniversary or a “just because” surprise, a Couple & Dog Photoshoot or Pet Photography session becomes a sentimental, lasting gift.

Gift vouchers can be purchased for full sessions or as a custom amount. To buy one, simply contact me and I’ll prepare a beautifully presented digital or printed voucher that you can give to your loved one.

Maternity Photoshoot with Puppy in Surrey Hills

Dogs are such a big part of family life; we share our experiences with them including big family milestones. That is why this couple decided to mark the arrival of their baby with a puppy and maternity photo session in the Surrey Hills. They wanted to have family portraits for their home, but also photographs which they can send out as cards to family and friends for Christmas.

Working with dogs is great fun! They are all individuals and their character comes through early on in the pet photoshoot. I love working with dogs because there is an element of unpredictability and freedom. I need to adjust my working style quickly to suit a particular dog. If it is an energetic dog, I would choose to take action shots first, then focus on portraits later. If it is an old dog, then the pace needs to be slower and the focus different. Puppies require special consideration, as they behave differently at different ages and have different energy levels. This particular puppy was few months old. He wasn’t particularly energetic but he was sweet and full of character. There was a comedic quality about him, which I wanted to capture.

In addition to puppy portraits, I wanted to capture the puppy and my clients together, for their family portraits. This is something I am putting a lot more focus on these days, even if it is a dog or puppy photoshoot. I am interested in recording the connection between people and their pets, capturing special moments for them which they can cherish as their family grows. Since this was a combined puppy and maternity photo shoot, it was even more important for me to capture everyone together. I wanted my clients not only to have the memories of the changing times in their lives but also the special bond they had with their new puppy, just as their lives were about to change, yet again.

If you are expecting a baby, and would like to arrange a maternity photo session with me, or you have a new puppy and would like to arrange a puppy photo shoot, please get in touch - either through the contact page on my website or email me at info@minamilanovic-photography.com

Family Photoshoot With Their Dog in Dorking, Surrey

Family photoshoots with dogs are my favourite! I love the sense of adventure I get to experience when both kids and dogs are involved in the creative process. Kids always have amazing ideas about which games to play, suggestions of what would make a fun shot and they love to show off various activities and hobbies. Dogs bring a little bit of extra chaos into the mixture. I never know what is going to happen next!

Back in the autumn when leaves were still on tress in beautiful shades of green, yellow and orange, I photographed a family in Dorking with their pet dog. This was an energetic session from the start. Within the first 15 minutes, there was a race, a hide and seek game amongst the breacon and who can do a highest jump!

In the first half of the sesson, I also wanted to take a family portrait with their dog. This shot took a while to set up and as I called the dog to look at me, he took the decision to actually run towards me. The resulting image is quite comical as it looks like he photo bombed my shot. I love a bit of spontaneity!

Later on in the session, while the kids were climbing a tree, the sun came out and gave the whole scene a beautiful look. The light was fantastic, the colours were vivid and beautiful and I saw the potential to take individual portraits of older children as well as a group shot of the kids. These are my favourite images from the shoot and I hope you like them too.

Looking at the photos, they remind me so much of my own childhood. I used to love spending time in nature with my family and my dog. It always felt like an adventure. I love the energy and free spirit this family brought to the family photo session, and I hope I captured at least a fraction of that!

Please visit my family photo session page for more information, or visit my blog if you would like to browse through the different family and pet photoshoots. Get in touch if you would like to discuss your photoshoot, or visit my store if you are considering purchasing a photography gift voucher for a friend or a family member.

Surrey Dog Photographer / Windsor Great Park Pet Photoshoot

These photos were taken about a month ago in Windsor Great Park on a beautiful summer evening. It feels like such a contrast to the drippy, grey, cold weather we are experiencing at the moment, and it also feels like much longer than a month since those nice warm summer days.

This lovely family wanted a combination of dog portraits, dog action shots and family group photographs. We started the photoshoot in a woodland area next to the Savill Garden. There was an area of think brackon which framed the dogs nicely, and made for a nice backdrop for a group shot. We then moved on to the large field which is a part of the Guards Polo Club. I noticed a few children playing with the water sprinklers and I thought these would be fun to include in the photographs. They created an amazing spray of water which I used as a backdrop for both the dog action shots and some casual group shots. I love how the water spray created a soft curtain which reflected the sun rays, these are some of my favourite photos from this dog photo session. Finally we went down towards the Obelisk pond and the Savill Garden where I took a few dog portraits against the amazing Savill Garden Kitchen building, and in front of its colourful garden.

I love working as a dog photographer. Not only do I get to meet and spend time with some amazing pooches, I also get to meet their owners and capture moments which I hope will encapsulate the spirit and character of their beloved pets. I want my photos to be timeless remider of the relationship we have with our pets, long after they are gone.

Do you have a pet and would like to get some professional photographs of them? Get in touch to discuss your idea or to arrange a pet photography session. I work as a pet and dog photographer in London, Surrey, Sussex, Kent and also travel further afield at an additional travel cost.

Pet Photographer Surrey / Leith Hill Dog Photography

Surrey Dog Photographer

It was a gorgeos day which I spent in the company of this fun, energetic black labrador called Pippa and her lovely owners. Her owners received a wedding gift voucher for a pet photoshot, and decided to go for a walk and some photos around Leith Hill. Energetic dogs mean lots of action shots and Pippa was well up for ball chasing and going for a long hike! As Surrey dog photographer I try to capture a dog’s personality but also the bond between dog owners and their pets. There was no doubt that Pippa and her owners were totally in love with each other, and I thoroughlly enjoyed whitnessing and capturing that bond.

Location Pet Photography

My pet photo sessions take place on location - either your home or your favourite walk! I also offer pet photography gift vouchers for anyone who would like to gift a beautiful set of photographs to their family or friends. If you would like to purchase a gift voucher, please visit my store or drop me an email. If you would like to discuss an idea or photographic commission - please contact me, I would love to hear from you!

London Pet Photographer / Surrey Pet Photo Session

I really enjoy the variety of jobs I get commissioned to do. One week it could be a couples photoshoot, next week a wedding, christening, family photoshoot or a newborn photoshoot. Amongst all these great jobs I get to do for a living, I also get commissioned to take photos of people’s pets!

I love speding a couple of hours in the company of our four legged friends, and meeting their lovely owners. Going into a new job, I try to get a sense of a dog’s personality and character. I aim to capture a variety of shots: portraits, action shots and the special bond people share with their dogs. My dog photography sessions are relaxed, fun and generally held outside, in a favourite park or on a favourite walk. However, this recent photoshoot, which involved an elderly greyhound Molly, was done mainly indoors, due to Molly’s old age. This meant that unlike the outdoor sessions where there is lots of walking, ball chasing and running around, this session was more quiet and the majority of it limited to the indoor space. I tend to get a bit more apperhensive about indoor sessions, worrying whether there will be enough ‘stuff’ for creative photography. This concern pushes me to work harder, and to ‘look’ for shots more.

During the photo session, I focused on finding nice natural light and beautiful shapes in Molly’s elegant form. An armchare next to the window provided a perfect perch for Molly, and a quilt thrown on at the back of the chair added a lovely background, and a personal touch. I tried to capture Molly’s expressions, they were full of charm and intelligence.

Working as a pet photographer, I photograph mainly dogs but also cats, horses and even miniature pet headgehogs! You can visit my pet photography page for some more examples of my work. I work across London, Surrey and Sussex but will travel further afield for a photoshoot, or a special event like Crufts. I will ensure you and your pet have a great time during the photoshoot, and will provide a great set of photos for you to treasure in years to come. I also provide pet photography gift vouchers which are a great present for a birthday, wedding or anniversiry, for a friend or a family memmber. If you are interested in purchasing a gift voucher, please visit my gift voucher page, or contact me to discuss your requirements. If you would like to organise a pet photoshoot for your own pet, get in touch to arrange a session!
