Autumn Family Photoshoot in London’s Regent’s Park
There is a particular stillness to London in the autumn. The sun sits lower in the sky, casting a soft light that transforms familiar parks into something ethereal. For a family photographer, it is arguably the most rewarding season; the palette is naturally warm, and the air has a crispness that keeps everyone moving and engaged.
Last season was particularly busy with family photoshoots and I'm only now finding the time to sit back, reflect and write about some of the experiences. I have been so lucky to work with many families across London and Surrey. One of the photo sessions that stands out was of a sweet family of three who who was a joy to work with. They contacted me through my website and after a few emails exchanging ideas on where to meet, we finally settled on Regent’s Park. I had the pleasure of photographing in Regent’s Park on a few occasions. While it is one of London's most iconic and busiest green spaces, the park always holds secret pockets of quiet for those willing to wander.
Finding the Rhythm of the Family
I like to start family photoshoots with a together portrait. By capturing this important shot early on, the pressure evaporates. Once we have that classic image, we can move into the true heart of the session: the candid, unposed moments that define a family’s dynamic. So, after the initial few shots, I tend to have a little chat with my clients, try to get to know them better. I am always surprised to find that even after a few minutes chatting to people, a connection is formed which transforms people’s body language from reserved to relaxed, which in turn makes for more natural looking photos.
So, after a little bit of a wait to let the crowds clear, we set the scene for a simple together photograph of all the family together. We escaped the main thoroughfares for a path lined with trees. I asked the family to simply walk together, and almost instantly, their little girl decided it was time for a game of swing between her parents' arms. This is where the magic happens. Not in a forced pose, but in the instinctive giggles and the way a child looks up at her parents when she feels most safe. This evoked candid family moments perfect for natural family photography.
Capturing Connection Through Play
A nearby bench soon became an irresistible climbing frame. Before long, everyone was sitting close together, chatting and cuddling. Their daughter had collected a few flowers and proudly showed them to her parents. I stayed back, letting the moment unfold, capturing those quiet, unguarded interactions, the kind of images that tell a story long after the session ends.
We continued wandering through the park after this and found a quiet wooded area bursting with colour. It was a hazel grove dressed in greenish yellow autumn attire, a fantastic setting! We settled here for a little while, enjoying the dappled light and the warm colours of the leaves taking individual portraits with each parent and their daughter, and playing a few games. The favourite game being spinning around!
A Discovery in the Rose Garden
Even in late November, Regent’s Park had surprises in store. We stumbled upon a rose garden still in bloom. Seeing a child discover a hidden treasure like a late-season blossom is a storytelling dream. She moved instinctively through the rows, smelling the flowers and glancing back at her parents with pure wonder. By using a long lens and positioning myself so the sun hit from behind (backlighting), she appeared to almost glow against the greenery.
Light, Water, and Reflections
Our walk took us past a fountain where the light was performing a spectacular show. The water droplets were catching the sun, creating a shimmering, backlit curtain. I asked the family to simply observe the water, the girl to stand on the edge and watch the movement. The resulting frames captured a genuine sense of amazement and wonder.
Because it had rained the day before, the park was full of mirrors. Near a beautifully curved bridge, I used a large puddle to capture a creative reflection portrait of the daughter. It’s these artistic touches that turn a standard photo session into a collection of unique pieces of art. I then asked her parents to join her, and captured them all chatting and walking across the bridge. I think these are some of my favorite photographs from the shoot.
Relaxed Family Photography in London & Surrey
We concluded our morning in and around the Japanese Garden, framed by the intricate wooden bridge and the architectural lines of the wisteria. But not before a quick game of hide-and-seek!
My approach to family photography is tailored towards each family I work with. I try to work with natural rhythms of the family dynamic. I believe in setting a beautiful scene, finding the best light, and then letting your family’s story unfold naturally.

Surrey Wedding Photographer at the Luxury Country House of Lord Beaverbrook
Private Birthday Celebration at Beaverbrook Luxury Country House Hotel
One of the things I love about my job is witnessing families I photograph go though different milestones in their life, including big birthdays. On this occasion, my clients invited me to Beaverbrook Country House near Leatherhead to capture their loved one’s 80th birthday celebration. It was an intimate family lunch followed by cake and family time at Beaverbrook’s stunning gardens.
Nestled in the gently rolling Surrey hills near Leatherhead, Beaverbrook feels at once grand and welcoming. A place where you sense the stories of the past quietly echoing through the corridors, mingling with the laughter and excitement of celebrations unfolding today. Beaverbrook is the quintessential English country house, a former home to William Maxwell Aitket, 1st Baron Beaverbrook, a press mogul and a friend of Winston Churchill. Formaly known as Cherkley Court, the house was build in the second half of the 19th centrury for Abraham Dixon, a metal exporter. The house was acquired by Lord Beaverbrook in 1910 who lived there for the next 50 years and enterntained many well known figures such as Winston Churchill, Bonar Law, H.G. Wells and many others. From the late nineties, for a couple of decades, the house went through restoration, changes in menagement and ultimately in 2017 opened as “Beaverbrook” - an exquisite country house hotel and a space that hosts weddings and parties of all kinds.
And it was a wonderful venue for the milestone birthday gathering I photographed. The family made a booking for a private dining space inside, a room decorated with wood panneling and elegant mahogany furniture. It was a lovely space where the family could enjoy a meal and instantly feel relaxed. After blowing candels on an impressive mustang shaped cake, we stepped outside for family portraits.
Wedding Photography at the Luxury Home of Lord Beaverbrook
In addition to being a venue for private gatherings, events and parties, Beaverbrook’s elegant interiors and 470 acre gardens can be hired as an intimate wedding venue. Working as a wedding photographer, I am always drawn to venues that feel authentic, where the atmosphere is as important as the architecture. Beaverbrook is exactly that sort of place. It is grand and sophisticated yet warm and welcoming. From the moment I stepped in, the staff greeted me with warmth and kindness, directing me to where I needed to go.
I was inspired by the beautifully decorated gardens, seeing photo opportunities in every nook and corner. Spring Family Photo Session in Richmond Park | Richmond Family Photographer
It was a lovely early spring family photo session in Richmond park. This family of three was relocating to Hong Kong and wanted a set of photographs as keepsake from their favourite local park. We had arranged to meet at Pembroke lodge, a Grade II listed Georgian mension in the heart if Richmond park, surrounded by beautifully kept gardens and opening up to the park. It was a fairly mild, dry overcast day, perfect for family photography.
Fun Family Photography
The morning began with lots of energy and hence action shots! The little girl was very keen to show off her running skills, swing in between her parents and play chase with her dad. I love it when parents join in the child’s invitation to play, the moments captured are full of joy, laughter and life! We continued to wander slowly through the gardens, stopping where we found interesting areas and features. For a moment, the little girl stopped by some hellebores and heard a bee buzzing, this gave me an idea for a framed image of her next to the flowers. The moment felt peaceful and tranquil, but soon it was time for more excitement and further things to explore.
We next walked to the King Henry's Mound telescope and tried to see the protected 10-mile view to St Paul’s Cathedral. Due to the mist that morning we were unable to spot it. However, it well worth the try as the telescope ended up providing minutes of good fun (and photographic opportunities)!
Spring Family Photoshoot
The signs of spring were everywhere - in the cherry blossoms, daffodils, primroses, hellebores and all the wonderful flowers, shrubs, hedges and trees around us. Nature was ready to burst into life! The pink cherry blossoms cought my eye so we spent a few minutes under the trees - the little girl trying to catch them, flying under them and being thrown into them. I love the colour palette and the sculptural form of trees in this set of photographs, combined with the joyous expression on this gorgeous two year old’s face.
From here, we walked down towards Elm Walk. This area of the park contains large conifers with beautiful green gray needles which I thought would be a wonderful backdrop for some more family portraits. We found a large fork-like branch which served as a “boat” in our maritime game, and then as a kitchen for some cookary classes. In addition to the warm, close-up portraits of the whole family I also wanted to capture a few images of the family surrounded by these great old trees. I love the spontanious yet timeless nature of this set of images.

As our time together gently came to a close, we paused for a well-deserved snack—just enough to recharge those little legs and give the moment a soft landing.With crumbs still on tiny fingers, I saw an opportunity for a few final portraits. She sat quetly, relaxed and full of wonder. Just then, she started chatting to her parents. It was tender, unhurried and sweet. I lingered in the background, camera in hand, capturing those final frames - her wonderous look, a little smile and excitment caused from touching primroses. It was a wonderful day at work for me, one I will remember with fond memories.

Winter Family and Pet Photo Session in Sussex | Surrey Family Photographer
At home family photoshoot in west Sussex
I had the great privilige of photographing a lovely family of three with their two dogs in the Sussex countryside last winter. Winter photoshoots can be a bit temperamental in terms of the weather, but we were lucky on a gorgeous February morning. The sun was shining, the light was beautiful and the company even better!
We started the photo session at home, spending some time in the garden while everyone got ready. This was a fantastic opportinity for the more shy members of the family to get to know me and relax in front of the camera. Both dogs were ready for action and I was keen to capture their unique personalities. One of the dogs was more extroverted and people oriented, whereas the other - a collie mix - was always on the ready, waiting to herd! I waited for a few moments of stillness and captured these portraits below.
A few negotiating steps and final touches - waterproofs, hats and gloves for a cold winter’s day, and we were all ready to venture out and explore the great outdoors!
I love photographing toddlers. They are always ready for an adventure and are so into everything! Muddy puddles, worms, bees, birds, playing hide and seek, you name it they’ll join in and investigate!
Outdoor Family Photoshoot
I often aim to get some together shots first thing when we go out. I find it takes the pressure off somewhat, knowing that I have some shots of all the family together. On this occasion, I took the opportunity to take a candid family portrait as we were walking down the road, the family chatting, unaware that I was taking photos. The resulting images are natural and spontanios, telling the story of this family’s weekend routine.
When photographing families with young children, I often suggest we meet first thing in the morning. Children are rested and in a good mood, parks empty so there is no worry photographs will be cluttered with people in the background. We can spend a good couple of hours outside and have a variety of backdrops for a really nice and varied set of images.
Action Photography for Active Dogs
While photographing families, I love to take some time during a break in the session, for instance when it is child’s snack time, and focus on the dogs. These two were only still when for short periods of time, so I had to work fast and get their portraits. They gave me run for my money, being constantly on the move and chinging directions. I was very impressed with my Canon EOS R5’s auto focus system, which kept focusing on the chosen dog even at high speeds and while dogs were chasing the ball and changing directions.
Family and Dog Photo Session in the Sussex countryside
We followed a loop which intersected Downs Link, a long distance route which follows two unused railway lines. Since trains stopped using these lines, the tracks have become a green corridor, providing an important lifeline for wildlife surrounded by arrable fields. Due to the combination of clay soil and flat ground, a lot of the land was flooded and colonised by a variety of waterfowl, egrets and harons, which provided a lot of interest and enterntainment.
After a long walk, and a wonderful morning spent playing, lauging, jumping in puddles and smelling flowers it was time to head home. It was a fantastic family photo session from beginnig to end, and I am really happy with how the photos turned out.

Autumn Family Photoshoot at Lightwater Country Park | Surrey Family Photographer
Autumn is a great time for family photo shoots - crisp air, golden leaves, and soft afternoon light. My recent session at Lightwater Country Park with a lovely family of five - Mum, Dad, and their three beautiful daughters - was a perfect example of why this season works so well for photos.
Lightwater Country Park
Lightwater Country Park is a lovely heathland & woodland area at the edge of Lightwater Village. It comprises of some 59 hecters of varied habitat that not only provides a great photography backdrop, but also a valuble wildlife habitat. The area of heathland within the Country Park has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). We took the first few shots in the wooded area of the park, but then quickly moved as the girls were full of energy from the start, eager to explore. The second set of photographs was taken exactly in this heathland area of the park, the smells of heather lingering in the air. I love to let kids lead the way in sessions, making it relaxing and fun for them, which in turn enables me to capture their personalities and energy.
Children portraits
We then moved into the woodland part of the park, but this time the backdrop was quite different - it was filled with oak and pine trees. This was a great place for a little rest and a sack. I took the opportunity to photograph the girls one by one, having their portraits taken with autumnal sunshine backlighting them. I was being silly making up different stories with the girls in hope they would engage and that their personalities would come out. I love their little expressions - each telling a little story of who they are as a person.
After stillness comes action (and cuddles & giggles)! We thought it would be fun to walk in a line (which didn’t work!) and give Mum and Dud lots of cuddles. This turned into a bit of a workout for the parents, holding each girl for a photo - and then all of them together at once!
Fun Family Portraits
The games continuted until the end of our session. We threw leaves into the air, played peek-a-boo with autumnal leaves, and had a mini race along one of the woodland paths. The gilrs had a blast running, making for some great natural action shots. Mum and Dad were relaxed and happy, laughing as they watched their girls enjoy themselves. Some of my favourite photos from this family photo session were the simple moments - Dad carrying all the girls, parents laughing because the girls photo bombed their photo, and the three girls running together with the autumn colours, joy filling their faces.
As we were going back to the car park, a little path presented itself as a nice location for some more ‘formal’ shots. After a few frames, and an afternoon of fun, we headed back to the cafe for some refreshments before going our separate ways.
Lightwater Country Park is such a great location with its mix of heathland, woodlands, ponds, areas of scrub and views over Surrey, making for a beautiful location for family photography. Working as a Surrey family photographer, I am sure I will be back there again soon!

A Heartwarming Family & Pet Photo Session in Paddington
Last spring, I received an email from a client who had been gifted a photography voucher for a baby and dog session. Her family wanted to capture some special moments for their daughter’s first birthday, so we began planning for a shoot later that year.
Fast forward to October, and we found ourselves meeting at their charming home in a quiet mews in Paddington, London. It was a crisp yet pleasant day, with overcast skies and just enough sunshine peeking through to keep things cozy.
Team Work For A Successful Family Photoshoot
The family was simply delightful—so playful, warm, and full of love. They really enjoyed spending time together, playing games with their daughter and sharing joyful moments. In my ten years as a family photographer across London and Surrey, I've learned that a successful session is truly a team effort. While I set the scene and guide the direction, it’s the parents' involvement that brings those authentic, candid moments to life. The more engaged they are, the more natural and creative the photos turn out.
At Home and Outdoor Family & Pet Photo Session
We started the session right outside their doorstep, spending around 45 minutes in the mews. The little one, their adorable daughter, had so much fun playing with her parents and their gorgeous black cockapoo—being thrown in the air, cuddles, tickles, and a fair bit of running around with the dog. Of course, there were also a few posed shots, and their dog made sure to steal the show in a few of them. In fact, I got creative and even used the pup to frame a portrait of the little girl. He was a star, and rightfully so!
Children Photography
When photographing families with young children, I often find it helpful to take a short break midway through. A snack, a change of clothes, or just a moment to unwind gives the little ones a bit of a boost for the second half of the session. After a quick breather—and some fun hide-and-seek portraits with their daughter inside—I suggested a change of scenery. We made our way to a nearby private garden for the next round of shots.

As soon as we stepped through the garden gate, the sun finally emerged from behind the clouds, giving us that perfect autumnal glow. The golden light added a touch of magic to the family portraits, as well as some sweet couple shots and more playful images of their daughter.

To wrap things up, we headed back home for some action shots of the family dog. I had a little fun with this one, positioning him on top of a neighbor’s car (he was quite the model!). It was the perfect ending to a beautiful day of family and pet photography.

Surrey Family Photographer | Autumnal Family Photo Session in the Surrey Hills
Family Photography in Surrey
The second half of last year was really busy with family photoshoots. As a working parent of two children (one of them under three), I was just about managing to do the photo sessions and edits during the week. My blogging took a hit, so I am trying to catch up now that the Christmas fever has passed and we have entered a slightly quieter part of the year. Although my calendar is slowly filling up, January is the perfect time to catch up with admin, and in my case - my website!
Autumnal Family Photoshoot
This autumnal family photo session in the Surrey Hills was one of the highlights from last year. The day was sunny and mild, the family so sweet and our location absolutely gorgeous. During the session I tried to incorporate a mix of slightly directed shots where I would set the scene and let the family interact, but also capture genuine moments when the family was interacting, playing or laughing.
Outdoor Family Photography
Sunny days can be a bit of a challenge in terms of light. Since this family photoshoot was done in the middle of autumn, the sun was low so lighting wasn’t a major challenge, but there were a few instances where we had to search for shaded areas to avoid direct sun or glare. However, sunshine also brings an abundance of opportunities, like great contrast for black and white family portraits, playful shots involving shadows and beautiful back-lit soft light portraits.
Children Portraits
I always enjoy finding quiet genuine moments during the family photo sessions. We found a bench and stopped for a little rest and a few cuddles. The boy was really content and soon started looking out into the garden, and looking for birds that were chirping around us. The light was coming from behind and made a beautiful scene for a few portraits of the boy.
Family Portraits in a Beautiful Autumn Garden
Before heading to the playground, we took a moment to observe art and spend a little bit of time in the formal gardens which still had late autumn flowering plants like gorgeous salvia, and beautiful climbers around archways. These made a very photogenic setting for some more relaxed family portraits.
Fun Children Photography
Once we were finished with group family portraits, and individual shots of mum & baby and dad&baby, we headed towards the playground for some fun! I really enjoy taking photos at playgrounds, the equipment provides a lot of opportunities for creative shots, and children engage in activities therefore forgetting I am there.
I couldnt resist a few final shots of the family playing and lauging together…
And last but not least - those important shots of mum & dad, so easily forgotten with a little person in tow, but an important reminder of the love couples share for one another, even after becoming parents.

Family and Pet Photo Session with Teenagers in Wandsworth Common | London Family and Pet Photographer
Family Photoshoot with teenagers and puppy
I recently photographed a really sweet family with two teenagers & puppy in Wandsworth. My brief was to photograph the two teenagers and their teenage puppy, a 9 month old golden retriever called Juno, to be used as Christmas cards during the upcoming holidays.
Outdoor Family Photography
We decided to do a home-park split, starting with some relaxed outdoor photographs on Wandsworth Common and going back home for more cozy images. It was an overcast day, the light was lovely and the common was bursting with autumnal colours, giving a gorgeous warm tone to the photographs.
Dog Action Photogrpahy
We started this family and pet photoshoot with some together photos, but soon the 9 month old puppy became restless and needed to move a little. She loved chasing leaves so I thought an action shot of her jumping to catch leaves would be fun. My two helpers gathered a bunch of leaves and on coundown they threw the leaves up in the air and Juno excitedly went after them. I love the resulting image - it is full of energy and movemet, and to me symbolises the joy of autumn.
Wandsworth Common Family and Pet Photography
Since golden retrievers love water, and Wandsworth common happens to have a large pond with a beautiful little feature bridge, I decided to use it as a backdrop and take the next set of photographs there. The love between the two teens and Juno was evident, and so I wanted to capture all the cuddles and kisses which were given out in bountiful quantities.

The rustic bridge on Wandsworth common was the perfect place for a group family photo. The trees in the background provided a colourful, but plane background, and the gentle uphill raise provided a pleasing perspective. We paused here for a few moments, for me to take a few frames of the family together, and the children on their own with the puppy.
Portraits of Teenagers with Puppy
Before heading back home, I wanted to capture each teen with their beloved puppy, and also take some photos of them having fun together, running around in the field.

Finally just a few portraits of June before it was time to leave the park. By this point she was tired from all the running around, and kept relatively still for me to take a few portraits of her in the dry leaves.

It was then time to head back home, snuggle on the sofa and capture a few quiet moments. I very much enjoyed working with teenagers and their puppy, learning what their interests are and hearing about their ideas for potential photos. I thoroughly enjoyed this family and pet photo session, and I hope I meet this family again to see what they are up to in a few years time.

Greek Orthodox Baptism Photographer London | Kingston Christening Photography

Greek Orthodox Christening in London
I recently had the pleasure of photographing a Greek Orthodox Christening, also known as Baptism (Vaptisi). This is a significant sacrament in the Greek Orthodox Church, marking a person's initiation into the Christian faith, combining centuries-old traditions with the deep significance of the sacrament. Although I come from a country which practices Orthodox religion and I have attended a few Orthodox christenings, I have never photographed one before. I felt very humbled that my clients put their trust in me knowing I had no previous experience in photographing Orthodox baptisms. My clients explained the deeply spiritual nature of the ceremony, the importance of certain traditions, as well as the meaningfulness of several rituals. I was given detailed instructions on the order of service, and have researched the details of the ceremony. With the experience of photographing many christenings in my career as a family photographer, I was confident and ready to tackle this new challenge.
Arrival at St George's Greek Orthodox Church, Kingston-upon-Thames and Preparation
We all met in front of St George’s Greek Orthodox Church in Kingston-upon-Thames, where I photographed guests arriving (some were visiting from far away places) and the family greeting everyone. When photographing christenings, I like to start by taking a few shots of the outside of the church and details which make each church unique. I then follow on taking shots of guests arriving and mingling, as well as the main star of the show! Little G looked gorgeous in her baptismal clothes – a beautiful puffy light blue dress. She gave me a real challenge, buzzing around amongst all the guests but I managed to capture a few frames of her on her own and enjoing lots of attention from family and friends. I also had the opportunity to photograph the special baptismal candle (λαμπάδα) being held by one of the family members. There was a regular service before the baptism which ran over, so I had a comfortable amount of time to take all the photos I needed.
Following from here, I went indoors and took several shots of the church interior whilst waiting for the guests to come in. The ten to fifteen minutes before the start of the ceremony are fast paced as I need to photograph family and friends making themselves comfortable and having a little chat amongst themselves while the christening party prepare themselves and the child for the ceremony. In Greek Orthodox Baptisms, the christening apparel (child’s outfit, candles, jewellery etc) is filled with tradition and meaning, so photographing this is one of the key priorities. After photographing the setup, the arrival and the church, it was time to start taking photos of the service.
Greek Christenings are very symbolic and traditional, and there are many different steps throughout the ceremony. Here I talk about them as I tell the story of G’s christening.
Renunciation of Satan and Confession of Faith
The beginning of the ceremony started at the back of the church, where parents and godparents, holding the child, gathered with the priest. This part of the ceremony is the beginning of the sacrament and symbolises the child being brought into the Christian community. Little G, who was just under a year old at the time, decided she was having none of it! She closed her eyes during the whole renunciation of Satan, and confession of faith part of the ceremony. Her reaction made me chuckle, as I haven’t before seen such an opinionated and determined little girl. She had her eyes closed the entire time, occasionally putting her little hand right across her eyes! The priest was wonderful, making a real effort to make the ceremony as gentle and fun as possible.
The Blessing of the Oil and Anointing
Following the initial part of the ceremony at the back of the church, we all moved to the front of the church where the priest blessed the baptismal water, which is anointed with holy oil (Myron), symbolising the Holy Spirit’s presence. This blessing emphasizes the importance of water in the baptism, representing the cleansing of sin and the renewal of life. Little G dozed (or pretended to!) through this part of the ceremony.
The Immersion
It was then time for the main part of the ceremony - the baptism itself. The two godmothers undressed little G and assisted the priest while he immersed her in the baptismal font three times to symbolyse the Holy Trinity (I am not going to lie, she did not like this!) before being passed back to her godmother where she calmed in a warm towel and her loving arms. It was quite a challenge photographing this part of the ceremony, as the space around the baptismal font was very small, there were quite a few people present, and getting the right angle took some purposeful positioning and fast shutter speed to catch the expressions of the child, the godparents, and the priest. Looking back at the photos now, I am quite pleased with the resulting images, they have a very documentary-style feel and take me back to the day of the baptism.
The Chrismation & The Tonsure
After all that action, little G was anointed with holy oil (myron) – her forehead, her chest, hands, feet etc, symbolizing spiritual strengthening and the sealing of the Holy Spirit. The priest also took a little lock of G’s hair and cut a small portion gently with a small pair of scissors. Tonsure is the practice of cutting or shaving some or all of the hair on the head as a symbol of religious devotion or humility. After the Baptism and Chrismation, the Priest will tonsure the child by cutting some of their hair crosswise to signify that Christ will be the head of the child from now on and that he will reject other allegiances.
The Vesting and Procession
It was then time to dress G in her baptismal garments, a gorgeous puffy light pink dress. The priest, godparents and G then circled around the fold three times, while the priest was singing hymns. This symbolyses joy and the journey of the new Christian life. The three little girls who were also a part of the christening party were doing a great job holding candles, and being involved in this part of the ceremony.
Holy Communion
Following all the ceremonials surrounding the baptism, the priest gave G Holy Communion and presented her with the Eucharist. She was given the baptismal candle (λαμπάδα) which represents the light of Christ. The candle is also meant to illuminate the child’s path in her new Christian life. After the baptism, the candle is often kept as a keepsake by the godparent or family. The end of the ceremony was marked by the priest offering a concluding prayer and blessing. Finally, little G was was returned into mummy’s arms and presented to the congregation. The mum bowed to the godparents before receiving G back.
Greek Christening Reception at Pyford Lakes Golf Club
After the ceremony, I quickly packed my gear and drove to the nearby Pyford Lakes golf club. Pyford Lakes is a stunning wedding and event venue in Surrey, offering a variety of facilities and overlooking beautiful grounds. This was the base for the post-ceremony celebration, koutouki. The reception venue was beautifully decorated, both outside and inside. On the outside tables, there were delicious looking drinks, an inviting buffet of food and little gifts for the guests. The inside of the venue looked as striking as the outside – beautifully laid tables, a play area for the children, and an exquisite presentation for the cake.
My clients wanted to have relaxed photographs of the reception and everyone enjoying their time. In situations like these, I mainly work from a distance with my long lens, capturing candid moments without people really noticing I am there. During this time in the day, it is also nice to find a moment to take those important group shots - child with parents, godparents, extended family and so forth. Can be a bit of a challenge as everyone just wants to relax and the kids want to play, but playing a little game just before I press the drigger does wonders!
